Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new.
Mollie Makes Custard Cream Keyring Kit
Issue 82 contained the Mollie Makes Custard Cream Keyring Kit designed by Nikki McWilliams. The little kit contained 15cm square if printed cotton fabric, soft toy stuffing, a needle, thread and keyring.
I love Nikki McWilliams and even went on one of her workshops last year. I love biscuits too so was excited to make this little kit.
I knew I didn’t want to make a keyring as they never survive more than one outing on any of my handbags. Instead I decided to make a simple pincushion.
Sadly my sewing machine seems to have stopped working. I tried using it a few times and ended up getting really frustrated with it. In the end I gave up and stitched it by hand! The toy stuffing was super soft and if anything I under stuffed it.
It’s sweet and I love it but just like the real thing, one is not enough. I would love to make a load of these as there are lots of biscuits I love to eat! This is a quick and simple make and super easy. I can’t wait to see what arrives with next months’ issue!
