A few weeks ago we were challenged to make Aquabeads crafts for the home. You may remember that we made Easter themed Aquabead Easter Egg bookmarks as a quick and easy Easter craft. Our Aquabeads are almost permanently out. They are a fun activity that my children can do independently and they make the perfect after school activity.
Many of the Aquabeads sets we have come with templates to make colourful creations. But what do you do with them once they are made? And what do you make with all the leftover beads? Sometimes it can be a little difficult to think outside the instruction leaflet. So I thought I would show you some of the Aquabead items my 6 year old has made recently.
Aquabeads crafts for the home
Aquabeads floral brooch
My little 6 year old made the sweetest floral brooch. It was a bit of a team effort. First she made a simple ring of colourful Aquabead flowers. She sprayed them with water and they were dry within 10 minutes.
To make it into a brooch I added a badge back, using a hot glue gun to keep it in place. I wore it on the school run and got lots of compliments.
Aquabeads unicorn magnet
She also made a unicorn as she is a little obsessed with unicorns at the moment. I’m not quite sure what happened to the purple beads. I think I may have left it to dry for too long on a sunny windowsill.
She didn’t mind too much and we made this into a magnet for the fridge by using a hot glue gun, and sticking a strong magnet on the back.
I love seeing their Aquabeads creations around the home. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
