Super Mario aquabeads playset

Aquabeads Super Mario playset review

Posted on September 17, 2016May 4, 2019 by jenny

My son is a keen gamer. Screen time is his reward for doing his homework, reading a book to his younger sister or going to bed properly. Yes, at 6 he still has a reward chart but it really works for him (and us!). Anyway, his favourite games are Mario Super Kart on the DS and Star Wars Force Awakens on the PS4. I think I mentioned we were recently asked to be Aquabeaders and were sent the Aquabeads Super Mario Playset to review and share with you.

The Aquabeads Super Mario playset helps you create all the well known characters from your favourite Mario games. Make Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach as well as mushrooms and question blocks. The playset contains everything you need including a clever layout table built into a storage tray, water sprayer, bead pen, template sheets and packs of beads.

As soon as my son was given this set he wanted to make Mario. For some reason our set didn’t include enough red aquabeads to make Mario and you can imagine he was pretty upset as he only realised this half way through building. This has never happened before but I quickly found you can buy Refill packs on Amazon!

My 6 year old enjoys sitting and creating things with Aquabeads. They are the perfect craft activity for him as you can sit and make them and follow the whole process through from beginning to end with no parental help required.

After he had given up with Mario he made Luigi which worked perfectly. The layout table is wide enough to slide in two design sheets at a time so he also made the mushroom and question mark square. When all the beads were in place you simply spray the beads with water and leave to dry. The best thing about this set for parents is that you can store everything in it – the beads, water sprayer, and templates too! Aquabeads are lovely and simple and my children really enjoy using them.

The Super Mario playset costs around £19.99 and is available from Amazon and all good toy shops.
