Black Widow Spider line activity for kids

I was so happy to find pumpkins when we went food shopping this week. I admit I bought a few to bring a touch of Autumn indoors. The children are getting excited about Halloween and have been busy planning their outfits when they go Trick or Treating. I’ve shared a few fun Halloween crafts for kids this year and am delighted to add this Black Widow Spider line activity for kids. It’s a fun craft activity which will help develop kids fine motor skills. Black Widow Spider line activity for kids supplies: Construction paper (or card) Black Marker Scissors Glue…

Making Halloween squishies with Duck Tape

We’ve been to some really fun craft workshops for kids at our local Hobbycraft. They are always affordable and the staff have been lovely and helpful. This weekend we popped along to our local store to make Duck Tape Halloween squishies. I could tell from the picture that they would be fun so booked places and went along. Making Halloween squishies with Duck Tape We’ve made some squishies before. They are so simple to make and don’t require many materials. For our Duck Tape squishies we needed Duck Tape, Supersoft Toy Filling, Clear cellophane bags and a black permanent pen.…

3D Spooky House papercut Halloween decoration

You all know I love papercutting but don’t get nearly enough time to do it. Obviously the kids are on half term this week but I am too! Since I now work in a school I have been looking forward to some ‘me’ time (laughable I know!) this half term. Today I finally got it. We had a ridiculously early start to drop my car at the garage at 8, followed by a trip to the dentist at 9. This meant we were back at home and ready to relax mid-morning. We still had a list of jobs to do…

    Paper plate ghosts for Halloween

Today we went to see the huge Harry Potter wands which have been placed between St Paul’s Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge. There were 7 huge wands (one from each of the main characters from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts). It was super busy but the atmosphere was great. The wands are switched on every evening at 6.45 so do pop down if you are in the area. This felt like a very Halloween-y thing to do in London today. Our house is decorated, sweets have been bought for the Trick or Treaters, and we are in the mood for…

How to Make a Halloween Friendship Bracelet

This is a guest post from our friends at Mrs Mactivity, who make creative learning resources to download and print, for parents and teachers. Download the Halloween Friendship Bracelet template here. Halloween is such a fun seasonal event! There’s pumpkin soup to make, costumes to prepare, trick or treating, parties, fun and excited children! It’s a sort of second place Christmas – after your own birthday of course. It’s also a really good opportunity to involve children in crafting and creative activities, to help them develop fine motor skills and above all, to have fun and spend quality time together…

Kid-made Hama bead crafts for Halloween

My children just adore crafting and we have a huge box of Hama beads that never seem to go down. They are a really easy toy to play with and I love that I can bring the box out every so often and let the kids create with the hama beads. They are such a tactile toy and perfect for encouraging fine motor skills and creativity. Kid-made Hama bead crafts for Halloween With Halloween approaching soon I actually bought more Hama beads! We really didn’t need any more but I couldn’t resist buying a bag of glow in the dark…

    Halloween painted rock ideas

I know we’ve only just survived the first week back at school but I’m beginning to get excited about Halloween at the end of next month. My kids love Halloween and whilst we might not go all out for horror and zombies, we can’t result stocking up on the Halloween candy and go Trick or Treating. Today I’m joining in with a Halloween blog hop with our Halloween painted rocks. We love decorating and hiding painted rocks. We hid a lot of our painted rocks stash over the summer, hiding them locally near where we live and also taking a…

Limited edition BEAR Claws for our Trick or Treaters!

My children have been (almost) climbing the walls with excitement for most of October. They just adore Halloween and have been dressing up, pleading with me to get the Halloween decorations out of the loft, and helping me bake spooky treats all month. Halloween can, and should be, a really fun festival for children. They love decorating the front of our house to make sure that Trick or Treaters know they can call on us. To get them in the mood for Halloween, they were sent their very own trick-or-treat boxes from BEAR. I left them out for the children…
