Spooky accordion fold bat craft for kids

Spooky accordion fold bat craft for kids

Posted on September 29, 2019September 16, 2023 by jenny

We love Halloween and with October in sight we are excited to make a start on some new Halloween crafts to share with you. We have a huge bank of Halloween crafts for kids but there’s always room for more. We recently saw a local bat walk advertised and this inspired our spooky accordion fold bat craft for kids to make.

You will need:

Black, pink, white and red card

Blu Stik (and Blu Tack to hang up)

free bat craft template

googly eyes

scissors

How to make our spooky accordion fold bat craft

Print and cut out the templates from our free bat craft template.

Cut the mouth from red card, the two white fangs from white card, the two small ears from pink card and everything else from black card.

Accordion Fold Bat Process (1)

Glue the pink earpieces on the black earpieces and the glue the mouth on the bat’s face.

Then glue the teeth and the ears of the bat.

Then take the long black piece of and fold it in an accordion fold. Gently bend the accordion folded piece into a ‘U’ shape.

Then join both ends of the folded piece and  glue the bat’s head on to it.

Attach two googly eyes using the Blu Stik glue to complete your spooky little bat.

They make a fun spooky topper for a Halloween box of treats, or why not make a whole colony of bats to decorate for Halloween.

If you ‘re looking for more Halloween crafts, why not try these:

Very spooktacular (pardon the awful pun) and fun way of getting the kids excited or terrified (probably the former) for Halloween.

Certainly put a smile on my face!

How do you get the accordion to stay together behind the bat head! Can’t get ours to stay
