Making Halloween squishies with Duck Tape

We’ve been to some really fun craft workshops for kids at our local Hobbycraft. They are always affordable and the staff have been lovely and helpful. This weekend we popped along to our local store to make Duck Tape Halloween squishies. I could tell from the picture that they would be fun so booked places and went along.

We’ve made some squishies before. They are so simple to make and don’t require many materials. For our Duck Tape squishies we needed Duck Tape, Supersoft Toy Filling, Clear cellophane bags and a black permanent pen.

First of all the children stuffed their cellophane bags with the toy filling. The bags were self-sealing which made this nice and easy.

There were two Halloween squishies to make – a white ghost and an orange pumpkin. To make the white ghost we covered a cellophane bag in strips of white Duck Tape. I told you it was simple!

We poked a few holes in the finished ghost, to make it squish, and added a face with black pen.

The Duck Tape pumpkin was also simple to craft. We gently folded over each corner, holding it in place with stick tape. Then covered it with orange Duck Tape. When it was completely covered we made a few holes with a sharp needle, and added a face.

The 8 year old gave his a blood-shot eye! Both Halloween squishies were fun to make and everyone enjoyed making them. We stocked up on supplies so we could make more at home, and a few of our own ideas too!
