We’re more than halfway through the year and I can’t help thinking about some of the festive projects I want to finish this year! There has been plenty of seasonal stitching though, including some pretty florals.
What I made in July 2025
I finished my Pretty Fabrics and Trims huswif finally. It felt so good making this. I enjoyed embroidering the cover, making the EPP hexies and being brave and trying something new. I’ve been using it quite a lot which is good, because often I’ll stitch a hoop and don’t really display them. You can read a longer post about it here if you want to find out more.
I reviewed the Easy Embroidery Embellishment book which is full of ideas for customising your clothes.
I also reviewed the Unofficial Bridgerton Embroidery book, packed full of Bridgerton inspired embroidery projects.
We watched The Quilters on Netflix, a documentary, about men in a maximum security prison in Missouri who design and sew beautiful quilts for children in foster care. It was a really interesting documentary and I loved how much effort the men put into each quilt and how it gave them something positive to focus on.
I’ve been working on my English Paper Piecing Ladybird kit I bought from MakeBox & Co back in 2023. I finished half of the body back in May but then put it aside, some of those EPP shapes were tricky! Anyway, the second half came together much easier because I knew what I was doing. Now I have the body complete and just need to finish some of the little legs. I’m really pleased with how it’s looking.
I also had a big tidy up. I’ve listed all my old Sizzix dies on Vinted if anyone is looking for a bargain. I also cleaned up my Liberty scraps and added them to my little Liberty fabric book.
Love to see what I’ve been working on. July was a great month for me!
