What I made in June 2025

The last day in June seems like a great time to sit down and reflect on the month. I hit a major creative slump this month, but I’m glad to say it’s over. I spent the weekend working on a huswif, or portable sewing kit, and it’s made me feel so much happier.

What I made in June 2025

At the beginning of the month I finished stitching the bee embroidery hoop I told you about previously. The design by Emillie Ferris featured a gorgeous bee and marigolds. This was a kit that had been sitting around for a while (2019 eek!) so I was happy to work on it and finish it.

A copy of Love Embroidery magazine came through my letterbox and contained a cute wooden bobbin keyring. I added my initial to it for a quick and easy make.

I had fun with my daughter’s hama beads again. Last month I made some colourful gingham hama bead coasters, this month I made hama bead cherries. I used a pattern from an old Cath Kidston craft book, and found the same pattern I had cross stitched when I was tidying. So cute.

I finally got round to sewing my son’s Scout badges on to his badge blanket. He moved up to Explorers a few months ago which was bitter sweet as he loved Scouts. His badge blanket is getting pretty full, I hope he will keep it as a memento of his Scouting adventures.

I received a copy of the Unofficial Bridgerton Embroidery book by Hilary Leslie to review. There are some lovely patterns inspired by the hit Netflix show. I can’t wait to tell you more about this book.

I took out my Craftpod sub box with a sweet dragonfly embroidery but it has sat next to me for weeks now. I just want to finish up all my old craft projects and make some room for new ones, but this one hasn’t really grabbed my attention. It might be going back in the cupboard until next year….

The huswif kit has also been sitting on my crafting table for weeks. When everyone was out watching the F1 film I decided to cut out the pieces. Then yesterday I started putting the front cover together and hand quilting. I had forgotten how much I love to follow instructions and see something come together. Hopefully I will finish the huswif in July, and then get to use it!

It is very cute to use the beads to create the design you had previously cross-stitched! I wish I had more time to be creative – what do you do with all of these crafts?
