I know it’s a cliche but April is nearly over already. The weather has been amazing so we’ve spent a lot of time outside, there was still plenty of time to plough through my craft cupboards and make though. My daughter and I crafted a lot this month – there was a lot of baking and some sweet Easter bunnies too.
What I made in April 2025
I always try to make the free cover gifts which come with my magazine subscription. The bee keyring from love embroidery magazine has been sitting around for a while but I finally stitched it. Can’t resist a bumble bee at this time of year.
There was also a Spring pennant, also from love embroidery magazine. This kit had also been sitting around for a while but was stitched in a couple of hours, love those lazy daisy stitches.
I really don’t need to buy anything as I have so many craft kits waiting to be stitched. The 3D vase embroidery kit from Wimperis Embroidery has been in my cupboard for a while and I finally decided I had to stitch it. It included some new to me stitches, including padded satin stitch, tassel flowers, bullion knots and picot stitch. I love to learn new things but the picot stitch nearly defeated me so I skipped over the bullion knots 🙂 I’m pretty pleased with the finished hoop.
My Pretty Fabrics & Trims huswif kit has been sitting on my work table all month. I finished the cover embroidery and the EPP but that’s it. I’m hoping this will be something I can work on in May as I really need the finished huswif!
I was delighted to win a copy of Mini Quilting by Laura Strutt, published by Make Etc books as well as a bundle of useful quilting products including a notebook, ruler, tape measure and quilters clips (already opened and used!). Can’t wait to try some of the lovely projects in the book.
Let me know what you’ve been making this month.
