I’ve always been a huge advocate on the benefits of crafting. I love to have a couple of projects on the go and find they are a great way of soothing my mind after a long day. It doesn’t matter if it’s creative colouring, hand sewing, paper cutting or trying something new on my Cricut – I love the act of creating something, especially if I can put the finished piece up on the wall, or gift it to someone. If you want to find out more about the benefits then read 4 reasons craft is good for you on…

I always feel that Valentine’s Day should be celebrated but simply. It feels like I’m still paying off the excesses of Christmas in February and I want Valentine’s Day to be meaningful more than anything else. My daughter has already asked when she’s getting for Valentine’s Day so I’ve been emphasising the handmade nature of our gifts this year. The children have been busy making cards and have bought small chocolate gifts for their friends. I love that my 8 year old made a card for her boyfriend, I really hope she gets one back. Love Paper Box from MakeBox…

It’s been a slow start to the year for me. Our little pup takes a lot of time (I’m constantly watching for signs he needs the loo!) so I haven’t had much free time. That’s why I love a subscription box though! They contain everything you need and the projects can usually be finished in a few evenings. Winter Craftpod subscription box My husband kindly gifted me the Winter Craftpod box for Christmas, which was a lovely treat. I tried to resist any spoilers of the contents on Instagram so was delighted when I was able to open it. This…

As soon as the postman handed me a Kawaii Box the children were really excited. The packaging is so bright and distinctive that they knew exactly what the box was. We’ve reviewed a Kawaii Box before and loved it. In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s a monthly subscription box from Japan filled with cute treats. They believe that a tiny dose of cuteness can provide a huge boost of positivity to our life – and we agree! What’s inside the December Kawaii Box? It’s been a while since we reviewed the Kawaii Box subscription box but we were so…

You all know how much we love subscription boxes. There’s nothing better than a box of treats delivered to your door, especially when most of my mail comes in a little brown envelope. Over the last few years we’ve tried a few of the Japan Candy Box and they never fail to delight. In case you haven’t come across it before, this is a delicious monthly subscription box filled with 8-10 sweet treats from Japan. We recently received the October 2019 Japan Candy Box Trick or Treat box. Everything came neatly packed in a cardboard box and the children literally…

I haven’t had much crafting time lately but I really wanted to make a subscription box I treated myself to earlier this year. Have you heard of MakeBox+Co? They make monthly craft subscription boxes and past themes have included a succulent planter kit, vintage inspired bag making kit, Peony and Eucalyptus wreath kit and a watercolour box kit. As soon as I saw the pastel coloured Rainbow Rope Weaving kit I had to buy it. I just love rainbows and wanted to try a new craft. Crafting rainbows and experimenting with rope weaving I paid £24.99 for my craft box…

On Monday my daughter and I had a few hours to ourselves. This never happens so we made the most of it with some crafting time! A few weeks ago I was lucky to win the December Mud and Bloom box. You may remember me mentioning the Mud & Bloom box before, it’s a nature and gardening subscription box for kids, aiming to inspire kids aged 3 and 8 to connect with the outdoors. A nature crafts subscription box Mud & Bloom’s December Gardening & Nature Crafts Box arrived last month but we just didn’t have time to open it in the…

I try to make time to craft but I have to be honest, working outside of the home leaves me with little energy for it at the moment. I’ve been enjoying the quarterly Craftpod subscription though and always seem to make time to craft the contents. I ordered the Winter Craftpod box as a little treat to myself. It arrived just before Christmas so I packed it to take away with us over Christmas. This was a colourful winter-themed box with two crafts – a soft sculpture of a woodland fox and a mistletoe embroidery hoop. There were extras too,…

A few months ago I won a subscription to The Curiosity Box. This is a science subscription box for kids and I was pretty pleased to win it as my 7 year old just loves science and I love trying subscription boxes. I have to admit that the boxes have been stacking up as we’ve been so busy. However, when the December box landed, and we discovered it was a SLIME box, well we just had to open it straight away. The Curiosity Box subscription box The Curiosity Box is a science subscription box that send you monthly boxes of themed…
