As we’ll soon be going on holiday I wanted to craft some colourful tags to make our suitcases easily identifiable. A few years ago we made some colourful Duck Tape passport covers so I couldn’t wait to craft with Duck Tape again. Duck Tape is a great craft material as it’s so durable and perfect to make tags to help identify our luggage. To make our DIY Duck Tape ice lolly tags I used: Patterned Duck Tape scissors card craft sticks hole punch DIY Duck Tape ice lolly tags First I cut my card to 100cm x 60cm. I placed…

I’ve mentioned before that my 6 year old is just crazy about dinosaurs. She collects Schleich dinosaurs to play with, loves reading about dinosaurs and has watched all of the Jurassic World films over and over again. We haven’t really done many dinosaur crafts before which is why our easy dinosaur fossil craft for kids is so overdue. This is a really fun dinosaur craft for kids which I’ve done with my 6 and 8 year old. It’s really quick and easy, so perfect as an after school activity. All you will need is a sheet of black A4 paper,…

Last month we reviewed the fabulous How to make your own Squishies & Slime magbook. It’s a brilliant book for crafty kids with over 50 DIY projects to squish, squash, smoosh and stretch. Both my kids love squishies, especially the smaller ones they got from Squishy Box. Our family love to craft so it was inevitable that we would make some of the squishies from the magbook. How to make your own Squishy Popcorn The children chose several they wanted to make and the first one was popcorn. It wasn’t hard to find the right supplies. We bought large sponges from…

There’s nothing better than a homemade treat. Both my children enjoy baking but I admit we don’t do it nearly often enough. We love crafting after school and were overjoyed to be sent a Mini Bakers Box from BKD to try at home. My children love subscription boxes and we’ve tried a lot of crafty ones. The Mini Bakers Box contains a baking and craft treat in a box every month, delivered to your door. Mini Bakers Club review – children’s baking subscription box It’s not hard to see why subscription boxes are so successful. They allow you to try…

With the Summer holidays looming I am beginning to collect ideas of days out and activities to keep my children busy. Like any children, they can get bored during the school holidays, so I like to have some ideas up my sleeves to bring out. Easy Wood Carving for Children Following on from the success of his previous book, Snitte: The Danish Art of Whittling, Frank Egholm seeks to extend the appeal of this traditional hobby to a younger generation in his new book, Easy Wood Carving For Children. During half term we went rock pooling at the beach. This is something I did as a child and something my children now enjoy. It is so easy as you don’t really need anything, just a rocky beach with the tide out! When we were in Devon we visited a lovely beach where we watched the Torbay Airshow. Whilst my husband was watching the planes the children and I explored the beach. It was a pebbly beach, perfect to discover lots of little sea creatures hiding in the shallow pools of water. Although we weren’t brave enough to pick up…

There are so many sporting events coming up that I wanted to try making some mini flags with the children. We’re not huge sport fans but it’s hard not to get caught up in the excitement of the World Cup, Wimbledon or the Tour de France. We have been talking about flags and recently had fun crafting flags on painted rocks and making a craft stick union flag. For our mini flags we used a sheet of white card, scissors and a pack of Color’Peps Long Life pens from Maped. World Cup mini flags activity for kids I cut the…

We’re looking forward to the Royal Wedding next week. I’m not sure if we’re going to stay in to watch it on the television but the children are super excited for their Royal Wedding activities at school. I’ve already written a post on Royal Wedding crafts for children. It’s proving very popular and has been my most popular post for the last few weeks. I love that people like our Royal Wedding craft activities for children and we managed to make one more Royal Wedding craft for kids to make – a craft stick union flag which would also be…

I’m sure it can’t have escaped your attention that everyone is obsessed with unicorns. I admit that we love unicorns too, I’ve even been drinking out of a unicorn mug for the last few months. We’ve made a few unicorn crafts, such as our unicorn painted rocks, but there’s always room for more. I’ve been thinking about making a colourful unicorn horn for a while and when we received our latest box of Bostik Bloggers craft supplies I knew we had everything we needed to make it. Tissue paper unicorn horn craft First I drew the outline of a unicorn…
