Mollie Makes Papercut Book

Posted on July 22, 2017December 8, 2017 by jenny

Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new.

Mollie Makes Papercut Book

Issue 81 came with the Mollie Makes Papercut Book of gifts, cards & wall art to cut & create. I love papercutting so had been looking forward to this issue for a while. The booklet features 27 all new designs by Sarah Dennis and Sarah Louise Matthews. The designs included gift tags, garlands, wall art and cake toppers. You can see a quick flick through it here:

Paper cutting is the perfect craft as all you need is a self-healing cutting mat and a craft knife. I like the fact that I can cut designs whilst I’m sitting with the children having their dinner.

I found the designs quite easy to cut out. My only complaint is that the designs aren’t reversed like most papercut designs. This means you have to be super careful when you cut because you will see any of the design you haven’t cut away.

I cut the botanical leaves as these were my favourite, and hung them up with washi tape. I also cut the flower garland and also hung this up in our living room with washi tape. Next I cut out the gift tags, card and wall art.

It’s a great book for beginners and a lovely way to add some fun around your living space. Have you tried paper cutting? I would totally recommend it!

I loved this kind of thing when I was younger but I’d love to get back into it too 🙂 it’s always good to have a hobby.
