We’re counting down the days until the latest Star Wars film is released at the cinema. The Force Awakens was the first Star Wars film my son watched at the cinema and he was pretty well hooked on all things Star Wars since then. He has been watching the new trailers and we can’t wait to go and see it when it comes out.
Star Wars toys feature pretty highly on his Christmas list and I have been looking forward to seeing what came out. He is obsessive about Lego Star Wars so I was interested to see what he thought of the new Star Wars Rogue One Interactive Imperial Stormtrooper figure from Hasbro.
Star Wars Rogue One Interactive Imperial Stormtrooper figure
The Star Wars Rogue One Interactive Imperial Stormtrooper figure is about 30cm high. He comes with a blaster accessory, break away armour and over 65 sound effects and phrases.
Stormtroopers are elite shock troops fanatically loyal to the Empire and impossible to sway from the Imperial cause. They wear imposing white armour, which offers a wide range of survival equipment and temperature controls to allow the soldiers to survive in almost any environment. Stormtroopers wield blaster rifles and pistols with great skill, and attack in hordes to overwhelm their enemies.
As well as the 65 different sound effects and phrases this action figure also comes with a motion sensor that responds to your specific movements. Equipped with the included blaster that creates battle sound effects, this figure engages in hand-to-hand combat complete with fighting sounds! It’s pretty cool and my son loves it. It stands on it’s own really well as a toy. Even though we don’t have any other figures this size, my son has enjoyed playing with it.
It is also compatible with the free Hasbro Star Wars Studio FX app which works with our iPhones (it works with Android mobile devices too). Simply download the Hasbro Star Wars Studio FX app and you can make videos with toys! My 6 year old has recently discovered apps and he really likes toys which come with apps (such as the Furby Connect which we reviewed here).
Star Wars Studio FX app
The app lets you create video clips of your favourite Star Wars action figures, vehicles and playsets, then use the Hasbro Star Wars Studio FX app to add exciting special effects to the video clip! My son is allowed limited screen time but he’s been using it all up on this app so I can’t wait to see if he gets any other Star Wars Rogue One toys for Christmas.
The Star Wars Rogue One Interactive Imperial Stormtrooper figure costs around £20-40 and is available from lots of shops including Amazon.
