I can tell that the weather is better and the days are longer as I have been spending more time in the garden and less indoors with my sewing. However there was time for some crafting.
What I made in May 2024
First of all I completed the Liberty Star I started last month. It’s such a simple design but really pretty. I didn’t want to make it into a cushion so I’ve left it as a block for now. I would love to stitch it to a top or the back of my denim jacket.
I stitched the Floral Sampler from the June issue of Love Embroidery magazine.
I read Cloth Stories by Ali Ferguson as well as Make a Vision Board: A Manifest Collage Book by CanDace Johnson
I added some new Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics brought from the Alice Caroline sale. Some are for my Liberty Tumbling Blocks cushion, others are just for my stash.
This month I read Preloved by Lauren Bravo. I’ve always enjoyed looking through my local charity shops, especially for preloved Persephone Books or vintage haberdashery items. I actually picked up a few vintage haberdashery items to add to my collection, including some crochet or lace hooks and pretty embroidered handkerchiefs.
I also decided to sign up to the Pretty Fabrics & Trims 2024 Advent Box as I loved the sound of the Countdown to Christmas sampler. This will give me something to work on in the run up to Christmas!
