    April crafting

    Last month was quite slow for me. As the days have been longer, and the weather warmer, we’ve been out more so there has been less time to craft. There was also a 2 week Easter break where we enjoyed a few days exploring the beautiful city of York. Each month I write about the things I have been making. In April I bought a Coronation hoop kit to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III this weekend. Although there were two colourways I opted for the red embroidery thread so this is my first piece of redwork. I think…

    {Summertime stitching} felt waterlily pincushion

    Last week we were away in the Netherlands which must be one of the child-friendly countries we’ve ever visited. In fact, we love the Netherlands so much it was our third visit with kids! I made sure to pack a few small sewing projects in case there was any free time – there wasn’t very much! Before we left I finished the felt waterlily pincushion from the Summer Craftpod box. This is one of my favourite subscription boxes, it’s sent every season and is always great fun to stitch. Each box contains two craft projects and this one contained a…

    Sashiko table mat

    Although I’m meant to be using up my craft supplies this year, I couldn’t resist Box 8 of Hoop Club by Cotton Clara. It’s been a while since I stitched any sashiko, but I loved the sashiko panel I bought a few years ago, and was happy to do more. Hoop Club by Cotton Clara Hoop Club by Cotton Clara is a monthly embroidery box and you can subscribe at any time. I don’t need any craft kits but I couldn’t resist Box 8. Not only was it sashiko (not even requiring an embroidery hoop!) but the stitched panel was…

    Embroidered moon tea towel

    A few weeks ago I was gifted a gorgeous craft kit from Craftiosity who put together wonderful monthly craft subscription kits. I’ve bought a few of their craft kits and always enjoyed making them, such as this clay pinch pot. I received the embroidered moon tea towel kit which was just perfect as I am really enjoying embroidery at the moment. Embroidered moon tea towel kit The embroidered moon tea towel kit contained an embroidery hoop, cotton tea towel, Anchor embroidery threads (dark grey, mid blue, light blue and dusky pink), an embroidery needle and embroidery design template. I love…

    Spring stitching {Spring Craftpod review}

    One of my birthday presents was the Spring Craftpod subscription box. I was more than ready for some Spring projects. It doesn’t feel very long since I shared what was inside the previous box but sadly this is a quarterly subscription. Spring is my favourite season along with Autumn. I’ve been enjoying watching for the signs of Spring for the last few weeks and my phone is full of photos of snowdrops, daffodils, tulips and blossom on trees. Spring stitching {Spring Craftpod review} The box was a real delight to open, containing two spring craft projects, bobbin cards, spring stickers,…

    Enchanted Wood {Autumn Craftpod}

    I wanted to share two of the little crafty projects I finished recently. Sometimes it feels like my makes are a little thin on the ground, but that’s only because I forget to share them! Craftpod is one of my favourite subscription boxes. It comes 4 times a year but the projects are worth waiting for. For some reason I didn’t finish the Summer box (maybe next year). Enchanted Garden was the theme for the Autumn box. I love the colours of Autumn so I was excited to receive the box. It contained two projects: a felt woodland badger with…

    How to make resin flowers

    I feel like it’s hard to find time to make now I’m back at work and the kids are at school again. Life is filled with school runs, after school clubs, washing uniform and doing homework – I didn’t miss any of these during lockdown. I’m happy my children are back at school but life is busy and I like some time to myself! A few weeks ago I received a lovely resin flower kit which was part of my Cosy Craft Club subscription. I felt a little apprehensive about resin but I suppose that’s why a subscription box can…

    Serene Spring embroidery with the Spring Craftpod box

    It’s safe to say I’ve kept busy with a lot of crafting and making during this strange period. I’m thankful it was already a hobby and I had a lot of supplies and I haven’t really needed to purchase much. It was my birthday the weekend we went into lockdown and my husband had kindly bought me the Spring Craftpod subscription box as a gift. This is one of my favourite crafty subscription boxes, the quality of the materials is always perfect, which isn’t always the case (I’m looking at you Mollie Makes). Serene Spring embroidery with the Spring Craftpod…

    Win a cute monthly subscription Kawaii Box from Japan

    I’m sure we’re not the only family who have treated ourselves to some happy mail over the last few weeks. The imposed lockdown has been hard for everyone, especially children who overnight lost the fun and friendship they get at school. There are some lovely subscription boxes and we’ve tried a few new ones over the last month or two, mainly food ones! Kawaii Box recently offered us one of their super cute subscription boxes and I knew this would help cheer us all up. What is a Kawaii Box? Kawaii Box is a monthly subscription box filled with super…
