Serene Spring embroidery with the Spring Craftpod box

It’s safe to say I’ve kept busy with a lot of crafting and making during this strange period. I’m thankful it was already a hobby and I had a lot of supplies and I haven’t really needed to purchase much. It was my birthday the weekend we went into lockdown and my husband had kindly bought me the Spring Craftpod subscription box as a gift. This is one of my favourite crafty subscription boxes, the quality of the materials is always perfect, which isn’t always the case (I’m looking at you Mollie Makes).

The theme for the Spring Craftpod was Spring Nurturing and Calm – perfect! It contained 2 crafty sewing makes – a sweet little Serene Spring Embroidery and a Cherry blossom keyring.

The first project I made was the Cherry blossom keyring project. All the materials were included and I stitched this up one evening whilst the children watched a film.

The other project was the Serene Spring Embroidery which came with a 6 inch wooden embroidery hoop, 5 DMC embroidery threads, as well as a needle, fabrics and interfacing. I love an embroidery hoop project and this took me quite a few evenings.

I got to try my hand at dissolvable fabric interfacing and iron on backing, and also learned a few new stitches (not always successfully!). I find it’s so hard not to be critical of your own work, and I wish my stitches could be a little neater. I’ve kept it in the hoop for now but it would be fun to do something with all my hoops at some point.

There was also a Harriet Lee-Merrion A6 notebook and A5 postcard, some pretty Mt blossom washi tape and a Green tea tea-bag. It was a super sweet sub box and gave me hours of fun. The Summer Craftpod box has arrived in the last few days so I can’t wait to make a start on that.
