    A ride on London’s Mail Rail

    We are a train-loving family so when we heard that London’s Mail Rail was finally open we were excited to book a family ticket to go for a ride under London. Have you heard about London’s Mail Rail? You can journey back in time on a specially made train through the original tunnels and station platforms under Mount Pleasant, Royal Mail’s sorting office. We’ve been waiting to go on this since we first heard about it! Ride Mail Rail When tickets were announced we immediately bought a family ticket to ride on the Mail Rail and visit the new Postal…

    Snazaroo Halloween event at KidZania London

    Today we were invited along to KidZania at Westfield London to experience their Snazaroo Halloween event. My kids adore KidZania so we were delighted to go along. KidZania is an indoor city run by kids, giving kids the opportunity to try out over 60 activities for themselves. We went along this morning and managed to keep it a surprise until we were outside. The kids were so excited when they realised where they were going! We handed over our boarding passes for 4 hours of fun! Over half term kids have the chance to transform into their favourite Halloween character and…

    The Handmade Fair at Hampton Court 2017

    Yesterday I went to The Handmade Fair with my sister for the third year in a row. I really love going to The Handmade Fair at Hampton Court, it’s a great way to learn some new skills and of course go shopping for craft supplies! The Handmade Fair takes place on Hampton Court Green, opposite Hampton Court. It’s a nice location although pretty difficult to get to from our corner of London. We arrived with plenty of time to go shopping before our first workshop. Full experience tickets include a Grand Make, Skills Workshop and the Super Theatre. I booked…

    Horrible Histories – More Best of Barmy Britain!

    Earlier in the Summer holidays I enjoyed a day out with my 5 year old, watching The Emoji Movie. Today I got to spend the day with my 7 year old as we were invited to see the new production of Horrible Histories – More Best of Barmy Britain! at the Garrick Theatre in London. We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead! So it’s time to prepare yourselves for a special production of Horrible Histories featuring MORE of your favourite characters from our barmy past – and a brand new scene with wordy Will!…

    Our experience at Paw Patrol Live

    We’ve had such a busy week but it’s been loads of fun. Yesterday we had booked tickets for Paw Patrol Live at the SSE Arena, Wembley. My children have been seeing adverts for this live show for ages so I was really excited that we were able to treat them to tickets. We managed to keep it a secret until we were outside – my daughter didn’t question why I had dressed her head to toe in her Paw Patrol clothes or given her her Marshall cushion to take out for the day! We drove to Wembley and when we were outside…

    A day at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre Aylesbury {exploring our local area}

    Earlier this year we enjoyed a day out exploring a little further afield than normal. We all love heritage railways so visited the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Aylesbury. It is a railway museum based at the old Quainton Road railway station, about 5 miles west of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The site is divided into two halves which are joined by two foot-bridges. Each side has a demonstration line with various workshop buildings as well as museum buildings. It is a great place to visit with something always going on. When we arrived and bought our tickets we explored the glass-roofed visitor centre which is actually the…

    The Handmade Fair 2017 discount code

    Like many people I love to craft but find my spare time squeezed by children’s parties, play dates, swimming lessons and food shopping. Life is busy and I find myself looking wistfully at my half finished sewing project or half cut paper template. Thankfully there are a few crafty days out which I can rely on throughout the year to keep me sane. This year I’ve already been to the Spring Knitting & Stitching Show and I’ve booked my tickets to The Handmade Fair taking place at Hampton Court between the 15th-17th September. For the last few years I’ve gone…

    Ruislip Lido {exploring the local area}

    We spent the morning at Ruislip Lido, a reservoir and artificial beach in Ruislip, within the London Borough of Hillingdon. It’s a really lovely place to visit, situated between Ruislip Common, Ruislip Woods, and Poors Field, an historic part of Ruislip. Originally opened as a feeder reservoir for the Grand Junction Canal in 1811, the reservoir was reopened in 1933 as a lido, with facilities for swimming and boating. Today you’re no longer allowed to go swimming or boating but there’s a splash park, playground, outdoor gym, beach area and lovely walk around the lido. We’ve visited the Lido since…

    West London Racing Centre {exploring the local area}

    I’ve mentioned a few times that my husband and children have a collection of model cars they like to race (this is on top of the model cars and model planes!). When we moved to West London we began looking for somewhere to race the cars, other than the woods or local park. Someone recommended the West London Racing Centre. The West London Racing Centre is in the corner of Pole Hill Open Space, a park in the London Borough of Hillingdon. The WLRC is designed to provide an organised venue for racing 1:10th Scale Electric On-Road radio control model…
