Inside an old clock shop is a wall full of clocks. And right in the middle is one very special clock. This is the Tickety Toc Clock! My two pre-schoolers adore the adventures of twins Tommy and Tallulah. Did you know there will be a special Christmas episode of Tickety Toc which will premiere this Saturday (November 30th) at 12:30pm on Nick Junior. There will also be an after show twitter party between 13:00-14:00 so don’t forget to follow @TicketyTocUK to find out more. My daughter has been really poorly lately but the one thing that has cheered her up…

As I sit and write this there are only 30 29 days until Christmas. I’ve bought presents, eaten mince pies and watched that silly John Lewis Christmas advert ad nauseum. In fact, I’m already tired of all those supermarket Christmas ads. At Christmas I feel a bit caught between trying to buy handmade, support my local high street and not pay over the odds for anything. When my son sat me down and asked me to help him with his Christmas list I began to worry what he was going to ask for. Although he’s only 3 his toy list…

Today I thought I would share with you an interesting piece or research from Lenor which found that we throw away clothes worth more than £2.7 billion every year. And the reason? Food and drink stains, rips and even washing them too much or on the wrong setting! Almost nine in ten adults ruin and then throw away four items a year, worth an average of £62.68 in total. Half of those polled even said they avoid wearing certain items because they are worried they will end up ruined. And almost one in ten admitted there are clothes they have…

I try to be house proud but when I’m juggling childcare, the food shopping, and washing, to be honest cleaning comes bottom of my list. Although we’ve been in our new house for 6 months we still have lots to do and the kitchen probably needs a total makeover. We’ve moved to a new borough in London and have gained recycling bags for everything. As well as our land fill we have a bag for recycling, food waste and even textiles. We seem to have a lot of recycling and fill a bag every couple of days. Normally the bag…

You all know how much I love making things for the children or our home but it’s not often I make any thing for myself. I was contacted by Amanda who owns Joe’s Toes, selling felt slipper kits, slippers and felt accessories, and asked if I would like to try a kit out. I chose a gorgeous slipper kit in seasonal red. I’d love to say I slaved over the slippers but I really didn’t. The kit contained everything I needed to make a pair of slippers – outsole, midsole, insole, upper, wool and needle. Last night I sat down…

Are you taking part in Stir Up Sunday today? Stir up Sunday is celebrated the last Sunday before the season of advent when traditionally people made their Christmas puddings. I’ve already blogged about Lyle’s Mary Christmases campaign which sounds fun but I was contacted by Yeo Valley too, who think 2013 is all about the revival of the homemade Christmas Pudding; apparently it’s falling out of favour as the traditional pudding on Christmas Day. I’ll admit to enjoying some Christmas pud despite over indulging with turkey and pigs in blankets. How about you? Yeo Valley offered to send me a…

I was recently asked if I would like to try Baobab, it’s the latest super-fruit that is grown in South Africa and is harvested and turned into a nutrient rich powder by the Eden Project in Cornwall. They sell it as a smoothie in their Rainforest Biome, and it is now available to buy in sachet form through their online shop. Gram for gram, baobab fruit has six times more vitamin C than an orange and more calcium than a glass of milk. Baobab also benefits from having three times more iron than red meat, six times as much potassium…

When I had my first child I was overwhelmed with the number of books suitable for him. We’ve always loved books so it was pretty natural for me to read with him too. Every week we would go to the library (we still do now!) and we read books every day. I’ve discovered authors in lots of different ways – through friends’ recommendations, through blog events, through the Bookstart scheme and through trial and error. What if there was a book for adults which would do all the hard work for them? Well, there is! Tell Me A Story –…

Doc McStuffins fixes broken toys in her backyard playhouse clinic with the help of her friends Hallie, Lambie, Chilly, and Stuffy. Both my children love the programme and love to play doctor to their toys. They were sent the Make Me Better Lambie from the very popular Doc McStuffins range of toys from Flair. The toy was very appealing in the box and pretty simple to get out. It needed a battery and then was ready to go. Lambie was grabbed by Little Sis straight away although it took her a while to figure out the connection between placing the…
