Tell Me A Story

When I had my first child I was overwhelmed with the number of books suitable for him. We’ve always loved books so it was pretty natural for me to read with him too. Every week we would go to the library (we still do now!) and we read books every day.

I’ve discovered authors in lots of different ways – through friends’ recommendations, through blog events, through the Bookstart scheme and through trial and error.  What if there was a book for adults which would do all the hard work for them? Well, there is!

tell me a story book coverTell Me A Story – 250 Great Books for Kids has been written by Grace Sandford. The aim of the book is to produce a time-saving resource for anyone looking to pass on the gift of reading to the children in their lives. The book reviews and recommends 250 books across five age ranges, from newborns to teens. With sections including the best bedtime books, chapter books, read-out-loud and read alone books, Grace Sandford’s concise reviews get straight to the point, explaining why each book will appeal to kids and motivate them to read more, and more and more! The book is definitely a labour of love that reflects her belief that matching the right books to the right kids is essential for nurturing good reading habits. Not always an easy task!

The book is available now on Amazon, both as an e-Book and paperback, and the e-Book is free today and tomorrow (21-22 November) on Amazon here.
