A tidy kitchen for me

I try to be house proud but when I’m juggling childcare, the food shopping, and washing, to be honest cleaning comes bottom of my list. Although we’ve been in our new house for 6 months we still have lots to do and the kitchen probably needs a total makeover.

We’ve moved to a new borough in London and have gained recycling bags for everything. As well as our land fill we have a bag for recycling, food waste and even textiles.  We seem to have a lot of recycling and fill a bag every couple of days. Normally the bag just languishes on the floor, the children walk into it and the cats get the jitters if the plastic rustles. My husband and I were saying how we should tidy this up when an opportune email landed in my inbox.

Believe it or not we were offered a brilliant new Brabantia Bin from John Lewis to review! I’m going to betray my inner geekiness and tell you this made me happy as we love the brand. Yep, we have already have a Brabantia bin in the kitchen and bathroom and even laundry basket. They are great quality and have lasted years (and a couple of house moves too).

The bin is very colourful, we received the orange one, but it’s available in five other colours. We’ve placed it next to our old bin and we now have a lovely tidy kitchen with two funky slim-line bins.  The bin has a lovely soft touch mechanism for easy use and the children are now very happy to recycle. We all love orange so I’m sensing we might even be basing the colour scheme for the kitchen on our beautiful Brabantia bin!

My kitchen is the favourite room of our house. Can never have enough storage!
