Our weekend was such a wash-out that we decorated our house for Halloween to cheer us all up. I picked up some great decorations in Flying Tiger including matching plates and cups and the children had a great time getting everything out. I filled some jars with some Halloween sweets too which were great for munching on when we watched a film. As well as Halloween crafting with the kids I’ve also been on the look out for some Halloween activities to keep them busy. I came up with this Halloween Bingo game for kids and thought it was too…

My daughter loves watching Ben 10. Ten-year-old Ben Tennyson discovers a mysterious device named the Omnitrix on a family holiday. This device allows him to transform into 10 different alien forms replete with unique superpowers. He has lots of adventures and is a great character to inspire my active 8 year old. Fans of Ben 10 will be excited to hear about the new Ben 10 Power Trip video game which is released on Friday 9th October. We were given a sneak preview of the game and my children have been playing it ever since! Ben 10 Power Trip video…

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write. The weather this weekend was terrible thanks to Storm Alex. All our weekend plans were cancelled, including our trip to The Pop up Farm Pumpkin Patch – hopefully we can book again for another day. Monday Happy List {Week 312} First of all I need to tell you that this Friday…

I love October but the constant rain today has been miserable. The children were really looking forward to a trip to the pumpkin patch but unfortunately this was cancelled due to the weather. In need of a little cheering up, we broke open the Halloween chocolates and sweets! We enjoy Autumn and love nothing more than enjoying some sweet treats whilst watching a family film. We couldn’t resist the Halloween H-Box from Hotel Chocolat. The classic chocolate box is filled to the brim with 14 frighteningly flavoursome chocolates including a mixture of classics and Halloween specialities. Dare to take a…

Keeping our little ones safe and well is an ever-present concern for parents. From child-proofing the home to teaching them about road safety, we do what we can to protect them. Accidents, however, do happen, no matter how much we try to prevent them. Iver Environment Centre is located in the Colne Valley between Uxbridge and Slough. It is one of four environmental education centres across the UK which are owned by the National Grid. Set up in 1990 the 4.5 acre site includes a poly tunnel rainforest, an orchard, woodland area with a fire pit, two allotments, mud kitchen, ponds and more. They run a series of educational events, family activities and volunteering opportunities. A trip to Iver Environment Centre I’m not sure where I first heard about Iver Environment Centre but I wish we’d found out about it sooner! During the Summer…

I feel like it’s hard to find time to make now I’m back at work and the kids are at school again. Life is filled with school runs, after school clubs, washing uniform and doing homework – I didn’t miss any of these during lockdown. I’m happy my children are back at school but life is busy and I like some time to myself! A few weeks ago I received a lovely resin flower kit which was part of my Cosy Craft Club subscription. I felt a little apprehensive about resin but I suppose that’s why a subscription box can…
