Winter is such a cold season but there are plenty of opportunities to craft. We’ve been trying to spend time out in our garden every day (in lots of layers!) but are happy to craft inside too. We love creating with paper and couldn’t resist crafting a paper moose bookmark for kids. List of craft supplies: Coloured card (dark brown, light brown, cream and pink) Craft glue Black Sharpie or permanent pen Wooden craft stick Pencil Scissors How to make a paper moose: Select dark brown, light brown, cream and pink coloured card for the paper moose. I’ve had the most amazing blog break over Christmas and New Year. Not that we stopped crafting (I have a lot to share!) but it was lovely to switch off and relax. We love to bake and craft and whipped up quite a few batches of gingerbread over the holidays. They inspired our handprint gingerbread man. It was so easy to make and provided some much-needed messy fun! Easy handprint gingerbread man All you need to craft your own handprint gingerbread man is white card, brown paint, as well as black and red pens. First cover your child’s hand with…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Our New Year was very quiet but I am looking forward to everything that 2021 has to offer. Monday Happy List {Week 325} Did you have snow last week? We had the smallest scattering of snow in London. My children were so excited that they…

I’ve nearly worked my way through the gingerbread house kits I bought for my Gingerbread Gift Guide. I loved putting it together but was also looking forward to trying out all the different kits I bought. The Waitrose gingerbread kits I bought have been a success. I loved making the Waitrose Gingerbread Box Kit and the gingerbread from the Waitrose Gingerbread & Shortbread Decorating Kit are adorning our Christmas tree. Finally it was time to try the Gingerbread House Kit from Waitrose. It cost just £4.40 from Waitrose. Christmas gingerbread house kit We love baking a gingerbread house at Christmas. Over the years…

A few weeks ago we were looking for somewhere new to explore near us. 2020 has been all about exploring our local area. We’ve discovered some lovely places in West London and were keen to visit somewhere new to us. We didn’t have to venture too far to find Osterley Park in West London. Owned by the National Trust, we pre-booked our slot, and headed out for the day. Exploring Osterley Park West London The National Trust’s Osterley Park and House, is in Isleworth, West London. Today I’m sharing the festive cheer with our personalised baubles filled with the finest sweets. Christmas may be different this year but we’re keeping the spirit alive with a fun post sponsored by Haribo. To protect our loved ones we’ll be staying home this Christmas. I don’t remember the last time we spent Christmas on our own as a family of four. Although we are looking forward to it we will be missing our friends and family who we normally see. Although we may not be able to get together we can still share the spirit of giving with the…

My 9 year old loves an easy science experiment at home. I wanted to try a fun experiment with her but with a Christmas twist and came up with a really fun dissolving candy cane experiment. My daughter just loves a candy cane and the skittles experiment we did earlier this year inspired us to do something similar with candy canes. This simple winter craft activity is great for keeping kids entertained whilst learning. For our Candy cane experiment you will need: Pack of candy canes Plastic beakers Sticky labels Different liquids Measuring jug Dissolving Candy Cane experiment Candy canes…
