Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 346}
Last week we were all really excited for half term to arrive. It has been a strange term at school and we were all more than ready for a break, especially from the dismal weather. We did all our usual activities, such as dog walks and after school activities but started packing our bags for our first overnight stay in months!
I’ve been making sure to spend some time sewing each day. It’s such a great way to unwind and I’ve been making huge progress with my outstanding sewing projects. I completed my Original Dropcloth Embroidery Sampler and squeezed in the Floral Keyring Kit from Love Embroidery magazine too.
We’ve been looking forward to visiting somewhere new for months. It seems crazy that we have stayed within our local area for so long. We have all missed travelling and seeing new places so much. Our first stop was the gorgeous village of Lavenham in Suffolk. It was stuffed full of pretty medieval houses and we loved exploring the tiny streets and shops.
Our base for the week is the seaside town of Southwold which is full of winding streets, fishermen’s cottages and hundreds of beach huts. Our little house is by the famous lighthouse and it’s amazing falling asleep to the sound of the waves and seagulls. So far we have spent the day at the beach which the kids loved, but we are looking forward to a whole week of exploring.
I took part in two book tours last week which was a little insane. The books were really great though so I enjoyed taking part. If you’re looking for a new read then check out my reviews of Perfect on Paper and Shadows Over the Spanish Sun.
Have a great week!
