Five Happy Things {Week 444}

Posted on April 16, 2023April 23, 2023 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Five Happy Things {Week 444}

We had the second week of our Easter break and it was super busy. We kept the kids busy with a trip to watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie which we all really enjoyed (and made us want to play more Mario!). We also did a spot of clothes shopping and a yummy lunch at Wendy’s.

I took the kids out for a fun day out in London and we did a lot of exploring. Our first stop was the beautiful Guildhall Art Gallery, then London’s Roman Amphitheatre followed by Leadenhall Market and then Birmingham Stage Companies’ Terrible Thames riverboat tour. We did a lot of walking but we had fun and learned lots of fun facts about London!

Are you fans of board games? We’ve been playing a lot of Carcassonne recently. It’s a tile-laying game and easy to learn. We’ve been adding expansion packs as the kids get older and it’s a really fun game for learning game strategy and co-operation with other players.

Today the sun was shining so we took the dog for a sniff around Ruislip Farmer’s Market. He has a few favourite stalls so we picked up some of his favourite pup treats. We also treated ourselves to some delicious Oreo brookies, a delicious mixture of brownie and cookies.

I spent so long out in the garden that I didn’t have as much time to craft. I did enjoy making some cardboard roll cars to celebrate the F1 season. Cardboard rolls are so easy to craft with and we seem to have an endless supply! I have been slowly stitching an embroidery hoop to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, and I’m looking forward to finishing off the mini quilt I told you about a few weeks ago.

Have a great week!

    Gosh, I haven’t been to a Wendy’s since I was at college. One had opened not too far from us, I will have to make sure I take my kids.

    It’s amazing how the weather has such an impact on our moods and outlook. A little bit of sunshine makes all the difference. It’s been so lovely here with the warmer temps to get outside, do some yard work and fresh air. Sounds like a lovey week 🙂

    Sounds like it was a wonderful week! I hope one day to visit London. It’s always fascinated me. My kids are adults but we love playing board games when they visit. I haven’t heard of Carcassonne!

    It sounds like the second week of half-term was very busy for you all but also really good fun. I’ve never heard of a brookie before. Bet they were yummy!
