Weak at The Knees and designed by Alex Chinneck for Clerkenwell Design Week

Five Happy Things {Week 24/2025}

Posted on June 15, 2025 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.

Five Happy Things {Week 24/2025}

Last week I completed the wooden key ring from love embroidery magazine. It was a nice quick project which is all I’ve felt like doing recently.

We visited the bendy house in Charterhouse Square. Officially called Weak at The Knees and designed by Alex Chinneck for Clerkenwell Design Week, the sculpture/artwork is open until the end of July. You can walk under the front of the house which is a very strange experience.

Our kids both spent the weekend at Scout camp so we had some time to ourselves. We went and watched Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning at our local Everyman cinema. The film was really good, but very long! There were some good trailers so I’m looking forward to more trips over the summer.

Emma Giacalone a stitch through time

I’ve admired the work of Emma Giacalone for a while and was excited to see she was exhibiting her work among the collection at the Museum of Brands. I don’t know how to describe her work, except she recreates food in embroidered form. Her work can be found amongst the collection and it was fun to look at the displays and work out what was old and what has been created.

What’s made you happy this week?

    That key ring project is perfect. It’s pretty, and it doesn’t monopolize a ton of time. I love it.

    Woah! That is a cool bending house. To be honest, nothing special happened to me this week.

    Omg! The bend house idea is so cool. I attended an exhibit of my favorite music artist last week, too.

    The bendy house sounds like a great piece of art to go see. It looks so unusual and would be weird to walk under!

    Amazing to read about your happy things, amazing…My happy thing for this week is spending the day in a spa, I haven’t done this in years, it was very refreshing.

    I’ve never heard of the key ring embroidery. That looks like a fun project, and not too big of a project to try. Looks cute!

    Love the overall look of that key ring. Simple and the attractive part is that it doesn’t take a ton of time creating.

    That top picture of that house made me take a double-take! It’s really such a unique thing to see, and to be able to walk under?! We went to the Museum of Brands a few years back and it was so cool.
