I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday Happy List {Week 263}
Our half term adventures are now over and the kids are back at school. We had a lovely time visiting family and friends and did some of our favourite things, like swimming and playing on the beach. The weather wasn’t too bad and we’ve really enjoyed the last few days of sunshine. We’ve even been out on the garden tidying everything up before the really cold weather sets in.
Last week I ordered myself a Cricut EasyPress Mini for a couple of advent craft projects I’m working on. This year the kids asked for a Minecraft advent calendar and a Pokemon advent calendar – neither of which I could find in the shops. So I decided to make them instead. The frames are nearly finished and I can’t wait to show you our handmade advent calendars.
Over the weekend we visited our local Hobbycraft as I had booked the kids on a fun workshop to make Halloween spider squishies. They always enjoy these workshops and it gave me an excuse to stock up on craft supplies whilst I was there.
Yesterday we visited our local woods. My youngest took her bike which she just loves since she learned how to ride. The sun was shining and we bumped into a lot of the kids’ school friends. It seemed like everyone was making the most of the good weather before school started again.
We spent the weekend decorating pumpkins and making Halloween costumes. Little Sis wanted a poke ball pumpkin as she loves everything Pokemon at the moment. It wasn’t too hard to paint and the finished result looks pretty good. My son wanted to go to his Halloween party at Cubs as a Minecraft Jack o’Lantern. I used a square box and painted it, cutting out holes for eyes. The kids do ask for the strangest things!
