As much as I love seeing my children receive and open gifts, I want them to appreciate how lucky they are and be grateful. We’ve always made and sent Thank You cards and I look forward to an opportunity to be crafty post-Christmas. I was looking back through all the different Thank You cards we had made, and my favourite were the simple Thank You cards we made (and I cut by hand). Thank goodness I discovered the Cricut because it made this years’ cards super simple. Cricut made Thank You cards There are hundreds of free projects on Cricut…

My favourite Orla Kiely print is stem print. I recently bought myself a new stem print handbag for work, I just love it! The print is a classic and I wanted to use this print around the home, so tried my hand at cutting my own Orla Kiely inspired stamp. DIY Orla Kiely inspired stamp I already had a DIY stamp craft kit from Flying Tiger which contained the rubber sheet and carving tool. I photocopied a sheet of stem print paper which I then cut out to make my template. I placed this over the top of the stamp…

My sister recently adopted a very sweet dog and I couldn’t wait to make him something special for Christmas. Obviously I wanted to use my Cricut Maker so had a good look on Pinterest for Cricut dog ideas. I decided to make him a stocking filled with treats and really enjoyed putting everything together. Cricut made personalised dog gifts I made two Cricut dog projects, I personalised a DIY dog bib and the stocking too. As I was short of time I used a ready made stocking and bib but these would both have been easy to make from scratch.…

I love using my Cricut Maker and Christmas is the perfect time to use it and make some extra special handmade gifts. I’ve made some fun things this year including Advent calendars, a wooden Christmas countdown, name tags for Christmas Day and a bib for my sister’s dog! There are so many more things I would love to make if I had the time! Cadbury have joined with Age UK to fight loneliness I’ve already spoiled my children this year but I couldn’t resist adding one more thing to their stockings, limited edition Cadbury chocolate bars which I spotted in…

Regular readers will know that every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. To say I’m a bit behind would be an understatement. Issue 108 contained a paper flower wall hanging kit which you would have thought would be right up my street. I started but never finished it. Issue 109 was the Felt Dandy Lion which…

I couldn’t resist. Today I put the Christmas bedding on and bought some candy canes. I know the two aren’t related but it’s a sign that Christmas is coming! I quite enjoy when our Elf on the Shelf comes to visit and I have planned plenty of activities to keep him busy in the run up to Christmas. Our Christmas Elf always packs the children’s lunches in Christmas wrapping paper. This year I’ve gone one step further and made some free printable Elf lunchbox notes to slip inside the children’s lunchboxes. Printable Elf Lunchbox Notes I thought I would share…

I’ve been really fortunate to have a couple of days off from work this week. I’ve made the most of my free time and made a huge dent in my Christmas shopping and wrapping. I get really anxious about gift giving so I find starting early helps me. Don’t get me wrong, I still have lots to do, but I feel like I can relax a little and make a start on adding a handmade touch to my gift-giving. We love the handmade touch and I couldn’t resist searching Pinterest for handmade gift tags to make this Christmas. There are…

Last week my Cricut EasyPress Mini arrived and I couldn’t wait to play with it. I saw it at the Cricut Meet and Greet I went to last month and loved the size. I already have the Cricut EasyPress2 which is great for bags and t-shirts but I wanted something smaller. I knew I was going to make the children a re-useable advent calendar and wanted to use the Mini to decorate the little jute bags I had picked. About the Cricut EasyPress Mini The Cricut Mini EasyPress has been designed to make detailed heat transfers easier than ever. It…

I love crafting with toys and I also love to make personalised gifts. Today I’m combining the two to make a fun Playmobil snow globe which I think would make a lovely handmade gift. It also makes a fun Christmas ornament. I’ve crafted with Playmobil figures before. The children love Playmobil so I’ve used vintage ones – Playmobil clock, Playmobil jar toppers, and vintage Playmobil figure badge.
