Cricut made Thank You cards

As much as I love seeing my children receive and open gifts, I want them to appreciate how lucky they are and be grateful. We’ve always made and sent Thank You cards and I look forward to an opportunity to be crafty post-Christmas. I was looking back through all the different Thank You cards we had made, and my favourite were the simple Thank You cards we made (and I cut by hand). Thank goodness I discovered the Cricut because it made this years’ cards super simple.

There are hundreds of free projects on Cricut Design Space so I searched for a simple Thank You card I could cut on my Cricut Maker. I chose one which I could customise, it was a simple design of the words ‘Thank You’ surrounded by leaves and berries. There was even a matching envelope to cut.

I chose my materials for the Thank You card and envelope and set up my machine to score and cut them out. The cut was a little rough until I realised I’d never changed my blades! I’ve cut so many projects and should probably have changed them before now!

I had to play around with which mat to use as the card got stuck to the standard (green) mat so I changed to the light (blue) mat.

There was a little bit of weeding to be done before my card was finished and ready to be folded.

The original project had different coloured card behind the cut out (according to which season the card was used). I decided to add leftover wrapping paper to ours and used a few different designs. Then I sat the children down to write their messages. The design suited us perfectly and the whole project only took about an hour thanks to my Cricut!

Aw these cards are lovely. This is going to make me sound really daft but I never knew what a cricut machine actually done. I could be tempted to get one in the sales!

I’m doing more and more crafts at home and this came at the right time for me as I’m looking to do a thank you card for a good friend of mine. It’s really beautiful as well! Thank you.
