I love all things Bridgerton. I admit that the first episode of Season 1 was a slow burner for me, but I quickly fell in love with the characters, costumes and sets. Since Season 1 finished I read all the Bridgerton novels by Julia Quinn and I’m excited to see what happens in Season 2.

When I saw a Bridgerton inspired embroidery hoop class run by Hobbycraft I signed myself up. I find in person classes really hard to get to now I work full-time, so an online evening class sounded good to me.

A few days before the class my craft box arrived, packed with supplies. Inside was the Bridgerton inspired embroidery floral pattern, embroidery hoop, heat erasable pen, needles, fabric and threads.

I logged on at the appointed time and the time just whizzed by. We knew we wouldn’t be able to stitch the whole hoop in 90 minutes but we went through six stitches needed to embroider the hoop.

First we transferred the pattern on to the fabric. I used my light box for this and the heat erasable pen. The pen felt very strange but was easy to use.

Then we placed our fabric into the wooden hoop and started stitching. The floral design was mirrored around the words ‘I burn for you’, which are spoken by Daphne to Simon, Duke of Hastings.

The time went so quickly as we learned about the different stitches and tried each one. Some of the stitches were new to me, and it was great to be taught by someone. I even got the chance to learn the correct way of stitching French Knots!

I really enjoyed my class and I was looking forward to finishing my hoop off. It took me a little longer than I wanted to finish it. We’ve had birthdays and Mother’s Day which has meant little time for stitching. However I finally finished the design, and used my Cricut Mini Press to remove any of the pen marks which were still visible.
