Life has been busy lately. Our evenings are full and I haven’t felt like picking up my Christmas Countdown sampler after work. Instead I’ve been picking up quick wins, such as the Christmas Stocking Hoop Kit which came with last month’s issue of Love Embroidery magazine. I wish I could stitch bigger projects but I just don’t feel like it, work takes all my energy at this time of year.

The Christmas Stocking kit contained a pre-printed panel, coloured hoop and thread. All I needed to find was a needle and scissors.

I gave the fabric a quick press and placed it in the hoop. Then stitched happily away whilst binge watching Selling Sunset on Netflix (a truly terrible programme but sooooo easy to watch). The Christmas stocking was stitched with a lot of satin stitch which fills up space quickly, and a few different stitches to embellish the stocking and contents. This didn’t take more than an hour, which was just what I needed.

My Christmas Countdown is still sitting next to me on a tray. I did stitch a little, but I need to concentrate on the small letters and motifs. Maybe I will find something else to keep my hands busy this month.
