Sunday Happy Things {Week 421} Despite the weather to went Trick or Treating on Halloween. We went out with some friends and the kids enjoyed dressing up…

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again but here I am with another Christmas Gingerbread Gift Guide to share with you. I love gingerbread all year round, but nothing beats the smell of warm gingerbread at this time of year. Gingerbread actually refers to a broad category of baked goods, typically flavoured with ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. I can’t resist a gingerbread biscuit but you can pretty much get anything flavoured with gingerbread these days. This year I’ve included gingerbread themed gifts as well as gingerbread house kits and gingerbread biscuits. Of course I’ll be building the…

I love little projects I can whip up in an hour. They satisfy my need to make something and often result in something useful and pretty too. My stash of Liberty fabrics always sits on my desk and I love to use it in my crafting. I chose a piece of pretty pink floral Liberty fabric Tana Lawn Capel S to make this sweet Liberty floral key fob. You will need: One piece of floral fabric 5cm x 21.5cm One piece of felt 4cm x 20cm One metal key fob One metal key ring Needle and thread or sewing machine…

With half term planned in south Wales Tenby was on top of our list of places to visit. I love that feeling of discovering somewhere new and we were totally spoilt by south Wales with its beautiful beaches and ruined castles around every corner. Tenby looked like the perfect place to spend a day with two energetic kids and a dog and we weren’t disappointed. Exploring Tenby with kids (and a dog!) We drove to Tenby from our holiday cottage which took about an hour. We parked the car in a long stay car park and found ourselves at the…

We love baking gingerbread and half term has given the opportunity to slow down a little and do some of the things we enjoy. Such as baking. Gingerbread is the perfect autumnal treat and never fails to fill the house with its delicious, warming smells. A few weeks ago the shops were full of Halloween treats and I picked up a few to make with the kids. We made Ghoulish Gingerbread Skeletons from M&S but had another kit to make. These kits make baking with the kids super simple. Spooky Halloween gingerbread treats I think this Gingerbread Skeleton Biscuit Kit…

We love using our National Trust membership to visit a new place and as we’ve been enjoying exploring Wales we decided to spend some time at Newton House at Dinefwr, Carmarthenshire. Newton House is a lovely country house surrounded by a National Nature Reserve and 18th century landscape Deer Park. Exploring Newton House at Dinefwr with kids We arrived at Newton House and approached it from the car park. We were rewarded with an amazing view of the house which dates from the Jacobean times but was given a facelift in the Venetian Gothic style by its Victorian owners. Surprisingly…
