The Weekly Edit {Week 11/2026}

Posted on March 16, 2026March 17, 2026 by jenny

Starting my week with the Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.

The Weekly Edit {Week 11/2026}

Last week marked a significant milestone for my daughter as she officially selected her GCSE options, carefully deciding which subjects she wants to specialise in throughout Year 10 and 11. This feels like a huge step as she starts to make decisions about her future.

I do love a jigsaw and came across a 1980s themed jigsaw from Happily. I started and finished my 1980s jigsaw over the weekend as the kids both went camping with Scouts for the weekend on a narrowboat. The jigsaw featured roller skates, a Care Bear, cassette, Rubik’s cube and all my favourite sweets from that time.

We took my mum out for afternoon tea for Mothers Day. Unfortunately both the teens were away but we enjoyed the sandwiches and cake. My kids gave me some new Jelly Cats for my collection as well as some delicious iced biscuits from Biscuiteers.

Brompton Cemetery

A few years age we decided to visit all of London’s Magnificent Seven Victorian Cemeteries. We managed five of them (Highgate Cemetery, Abney Park Cemetery, Tower Hamlets Cemetery, Kensal Green Cemetery, West Norwood Cemetery). We decided to visit Brompton Cemetery as the teens were away. It was dog friendly so we had a lovely walk through the graveyard and a bit of a history lesson too. Just Nunhead Cemetery to visit now!

    That puzzle sounds great. I’m a child of the ’80s, so I love anything themed from that era.

    Getting those GCSE options sorted is a major milestone for your daughter. I spent my weekend with a similar jigsaw and the nostalgia from those old cassette tapes and sweets made for such a relaxing ritual.

    I always enjoy these weekly edits, it feels like a nice mix of real life and little moments. It reminds me how quickly the weeks go with a child. GCSE’s sound like such a big step in a childs life!

    This is so cool and sounds like you had an eventful week for sure. Love all that you accomplished and glad you got that one on one time with your mom for Mother’s day 🙂

    I’ve only been to Highgate cemetery and it feels weird to say I enjoyed visiting a cemetery but I did. Happy Mother’s Day for last weekend, jellycats and biscuits sounds like some great gifts x

    I hope your daughter does well in her future GCSE’s, I remember the day I chose my options in school! It sounds like you’ve had a busy week!

    GCSEs are so stressful! Our daughter is up next year. The puzzle sounds really fun – I love Care Bears and it sounds like a lot of color.
