I’m looking forward to celebrating (is that the right word?) my first Mothers’ Day on Sunday. In honour of the day I thought I’d post a pic of me with my mum. I think the photograph was taken on the day of my Christening in 1977/78. I still have the little outfit I’m wearing but…

Reasons to be cheerful
So many reasons to be cheerful this week: 1. Edward is better and back to his normal self. We’ve experienced our first bout of sickness and diarrhoea which was unpleasant. I’ve never done so much washing in Edward’s short life! Fortunately he’s fine and he’s eating home cooked food and sleeping well again….
Day Zero – Month Six (March)
It’s time to write an update on my Day Zero progress. 7. Decide whether to return to work or not Well first I decided to return, then I changed my mind. You can read the whole sorry story. 38. Do at least one geocache a month We’ve been having loads of fun out…

A Monthly Make – March
This months’ effort was made for a swap to make a Mug Rug. If you haven’t heard of these before they’re basically a small quilt which you can use for your tea and biscuits. They’re a great project if you’re new to quilting and can be completed in under an hour. I used this great…

We ended up with a selection of blankets, which all offered something a little bit different. We were recently sent a blanket to review and we have been using…
The day my toddler fell out of his cot
Edward has been sleeping really badly lately. He goes to bed easily at 7pm but will often wake between 1 and 5am. He hasn’t had night feeds for months but occasionally will drop his dummy which needs popping back in or a dose of medicine if he’s teething. However the last few months he’s woken…
1980s hair
I love this week’s theme for The Gallery: Hair! I’ve changed my hairstyle nearly as often as I’ve changed my socks. I’ve had asymmetrical, short, long, fringe, no fringe. I remember at Middle School I used so much hair spray I got told off by the school nit nurse. Fortunately most of my photos are…
Big Green Bookshop need your help
I expect my local highstreet looks much like yours, same old supermarkets and pound shops with the odd Boots and WHSmith thrown in for good measure. It makes shopping slightly boring. However, Wood Green has one good shop that is all our own – The Big Green Bookshop – an independent bookshop that aims to…
