Ecoegg giveaway: save the environment and money!

Ever keen to do our bit for the environment, save money and see if I can ease the kids’ eczema, over the last few weeks we’ve been trying out the ecoegg. The ecoegg claims to wash your clothes effectively without using washing powder or liquid.

The ecoegg is about three times the size of a normal egg and you fill it with special pellets which do all the hard work. Now for the science bit: there are two types of pellets – dark tourmaline ceramic pellets which weaken the adhesive forces between the dirt and fabric and the white mineral pellets which naturally ionize the oxygen molecules in the water which then penetrate deep into the fabric lifting away the dirt and grime, without fading colours or damaging the fibers. Phew.

The ionized oxygen molecules also increase the pH level of the water, which has a natural softening effect on your laundry, so you do not need to use additional fabric softener or conditioner.

It’s so easy to use, just fill with the pellets and put it in your machine with your washing and that’s it. I’ve been using it for the last couple of weeks and I’m really happy with the results, lovely clean washing. The only thing I find hard to get used to is that the clothes don’t smell of anything (other than clean!) as the ecoegg is not fragranced. It’s safe to use up to and including 60 degrees Celsius and is suitable for white and coloured clothes.

The Ecoegg is refillable, so after 72 washes, you can top up the pellets with one refill pack of mineral pellets. Just repeat this process every 72 washes. The Ecoegg is supplied with enough refill packs to give approximately 720 washes in total. This is enough to last the average family for 3 years’ worth of washing.

Thank you for the fantastic competition, have always wanted to try these but part of me just doesn’t quite believe they would work so I’ve never had the money spare to risk forking out for them! Hope I’m proved wrong, it would change my life forever and I’d be so happy to give up laundry detergent and all its nasty chemicals.

    Good luck all xxx
