Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 30/2026}
The teens are now both on their summer holidays – last week they went into London together for a shopping trip to Westfield. My so came home with a new Lego set to build, the Lego Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton helmet. He built it the same day and it’s a great addition to his other Lego sets.
We have now finished building and painting the garden cabin, so it is safe if it rains (we are all praying for rain here in the UK). We even have the guttering on and have fairy lights around it and it feels like it has been there for years. The next step is to purchase a new gaming set up for the teens so they can start to use it. However my teen has been away in Poland with his Explorer group and my daughter is away at Scout camp, so it will be a while before we fit it out for them.
My latest the teabreak project sub box arrived and I found some time to sit and make the project, which was a handmade paper journal. I could get used to sitting and having a break each month, and making something useful.
I love my analogue hobbies and started a new puzzle, called Well Played it’s another Happily puzzle. They are bright and colourful and a really relaxing way to spend time.
I’ve read a few novels by Janice Hallett and booked tickets to see her speak in September! I’m so excited as I’ve enjoyed reading all her books and she will be talking about her sequel to The Appeal (I might have to re-read The Appeal before I go!).

Ooh. I can’t wait unti the game area is fully finished. That is so exciting. I can’t wait to see shots of it!
I am hoping the rain comes too, everywhere is so dry! We have been to London twice so far and hoping to plan a few day trips. Enjoy your week!
What a lovely collection of family memories and milestones. The new garden cabin sounds absolutely amazing.
We’re also adding an additional sunroom and I can’t wait for the construction to end. I can’t wait. A garden cabin also seems like a fantastic addition to the garden.
It has not had any real rain here in so long – and the grass really needs it! I love a bit of LEGO – we went to the LEGO store today in Westfield.
Looks like you had an awesome week and love the the Lego Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton helmet and if possible, build one for me. Thanks a lot for the recommendation.
That’s so great that you wrapped up your garden cabin project! I’m looking for a new book, so I’ll check out Janice Hallett’s novels.
Making a paper journal by hand sounds like a great project! Would love to see some photos!!
Congratulations on finishing your garden cabin! I’m sure it turned out beautifully. It sounds like such an exciting space for the whole family. Happy for you.
