Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.

The Weekly Edit {Week 29/2026}

Last week my daughter received her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s certificate and badge as she completed the programme, showing progress in four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and an Expedition. She also won a medal at Sports Day and finished Year 9!

I treated myself to a Hedgerow & Moor Monthly Almanac Box is a subscription box. Each month focuses on the British countryside and follows the changing seasons with items like an illustrated zine, art prints, and delicious seasonal botanical teas.

We had a Velux window installed in my daughter’s room and built a cabin for the garden. This follows all the work we did on our living room, so I;m really looking forward to it all finishing so we can sit back and enjoy everything.

I completed the cross stitch sardines in a tin which I started a while ago. I love the results but cross stitch makes me go cross-eyed!

Alex Hay has a new novel out in September called The Midnight Guests: a grand hotel is opening, beware who checks in …. I really enjoyed his previous books so was delighted to receive a review copy from NetGalley. I’ll keep you posted on my review when I’ve written it.
