Adventures with gNappies

As it’s Real Nappy Week it seems a good time to tell you about the gPants we have recently been using. We love using reuseable nappies and were really excited to meet the founders of gNappies recently.

Whilst reuseable nappies have obvious benefits to the environment gNappies go one step further. They give you two options which go easy on the planet – a disposable but 100% biodegradable gRefill or washable gCloth.

Little Sis has been trying out the little gPants with the gRefills. As you can see they look adorable on her little bottom, just like proper pants, and they are really easy to use! The gPants are the nappy cover made with gBreathe technology and comes with a removable little gPant pouch. This unique feature sets the gNappy apart from other reuseables and means less washing, and faster and easier changes. The gRefills are made of sustainably farmed wood fluff pulp, with sodium polyacrylate (SAP) for absorbency, and cellulose rayon, which means they are 100% biodegradable.

If you have a garden you can even do a bit of home composting! Wet biodegradable gRefills (not the ones with poo) are ideal material for compost piles, providing a rich source of nitrogen and organic matter. Independent research has shown that wet gRefills will break down in 50 – 150 days. Compost is great for your garden and reduces the amount of waste you send to landfill.

gDiapers were recently featured as an essential by Gwyneth Paltrow in her Goop Pregnancy newsletter – “A ridiculously cute eco-friendly diaper system. Choose one or two outer layer diapers that you can use over and over again and then replace the inner layer with biodegradable refills or washable cloth inserts (both viable eco options). The diapers come in lots of great colors and patterns.”

If they’re good enough for Gwynnie, they’re definitely good enough for us!
