The Summer Sampler mini quilt {update 3}

Ever since I finished my little underground hoop I’ve been thinking about what I wanted to work on next. I’ve been waiting for the Summer Craftpod box to arrive but then I thought back to my list of outstanding projects. I keep a little list of sewing projects over there in my sidebar. I look at them every time I open my blog and they are a reminder of the things I want to make.

Over the last week I remembered the Summer Sampler mini quilt I had bought. It was a sweet Block of the Month Club which I bought in 2019 from Pretty Fabrics and Trims. I have a few of their kits and I don’t think I’ve finished a single one. This is very bad and I want to spend more time working on the kits and improving my sewing skills!

I dug out the Summer Sampler and had 11 finished blocks, and one nearly finished block. I finished off the tricky EPP block I was stuck on and stitched each block together to make four rows.

Then I stitched each row together until I had the quilt top.

Some of the blocks were slightly wonky but I decided to embrace the wonkyness. I had to do a little hand washing where my daughter squirted ketchup on it, but I decided it just adds to the charm.

I cut and added the border and have added a small border of lace.

Now the quilt top is finished I can make my quilt sandwich and add some hand quilting! I’m so excited that I have made so much progress in just a few hours. I might actually finish this Summer Sampler mini quilt this summer!
