‘The Summer Sampler’ Block of the Month Club {update 2}

‘The Summer Sampler’ Block of the Month Club

Thanks to the first week of the Summer holidays I’ve had time to finish work on Months 3 and 4 of ‘The Summer Sampler’ Block of the Month Club. This was a monthly club I subscribed to back in 2019 from Pretty Fabrics and Trims.

Spread over 4 months, each month I received a little packet containing Monthly instructions, super pretty fabrics and embroidery threads for three blocks. Over the 4 months this made a number of blocks which could be stitched together to make a super sweet Summer Sampler.

I really enjoyed the blocks from Month 3 which included two embroidered panels and a block of EPP made with Liberty fabrics. I love EPP so made up the blocks and stitched them together. Then I worked on the pre-printed embroidered panels which are always fun to stitch.

Then it was time to open Month 4 which also included all the fabrics to finish off the quilt. There was a great selection of embroidery and EPP. I couldn’t wait to embroidery this floral hoop, the colours went together so well.

The other two panels were made with a pretty selection of Liberty fabrics. The heart was a raw edged appliqué (no more needle turn appliqué after that orange peel block!) and I enjoyed the unusual shape of the EPP blocks. There was plenty of fabric left over to place in my little Liberty Book of fabric.

The final packet of instructions contained all the little scraps and notions to add to the blocks. The heart block included a little scrap of linen so I cut that ready to stitch the blocks together.

It really didn’t take long for me to stitch the 12 blocks and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t do it sooner. We have a busy few weeks coming up but I’m hoping for some time to stitch the blocks together at the end of the summer holidays. Our walk yesterday was very Autumnal so I need to finish this soon!
