I’m so excited for the return of Bridgerton on our screens this week. I don’t have any good series to watch at the moment and it feels like I’ve been waiting for this show for months! Over the weekend I took part in an online workshop to embroider a Bridgerton inspired hoop. It made me want to search for more Bridgerton crafts and I didn’t find many. Which is why I wanted to make something else!
My Cricut is the perfect machine for crafting so I used it to make this Cricut-made Bridgerton quotation sign. I adore Violet Bridgerton and used the quotation “We shall do what women do. We shall talk.” She said it when she learned of a scandal that would get Daphne out of marrying the awful Nigel Berbrooke. She wanted Londoners to learn of the news, so that a disgraced Berbrooke would leave town.
Of course Daphne was worried that Berbrooke would simply deny the gossip and nobody would believe them because they were just women. However her mother assured Daphne that if they gossiped enough it would reach the ears of Lady Whistledown and her Society Papers ….

I found a really fun Bridgerton quotation on Etsy which I purchased for this. I opened Cricut Design Space and created a new project. I imported the svg and re-sized it (I measured my wooden sign to make sure the image would fit).
I chose a gorgeous hot pink vinyl and set up my Cricut machine with the StandardGrip mat. I then set the Cricut machine to cut the text from vinyl.
Then I was able to weed the excess vinyl away, and trim each sign, covering each line with Transfer Tape.
I carefully removed the Transfer Tape and attached the vinyl to the sign. I smoothed the vinyl down with my fingers. I did this for each wooden slat, making sure the words were aligned.
I had painted the sign with white acrylic paint and the hot pink stood out really well against it.
The sign has a string for hanging and is such a fun quotation to have around. Violet Bridgerton is a great matriarch so this is a fun way to celebrate her great advice to one of her children.
