My hands making: Felt dinosaur pincushion

Regular readers will know that every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new.

Back in Feb I made the cute Kitty Keyring from Issue 115. Issue 116 came with Jenny Blair’s dino pincushion kit. The kit included felt, embroidery thread, a needle, and toy stuffing.

Working with felt is fun and I enjoyed making this little pincushion.

I love having a little project on the go. This was fun to pick up in the evenings and stitch. Due to its size it was quite fiddly and I had pins everywhere.

The stripes were especially tricky but I’ve had plenty of time to craft recently.

I pretty much followed the instructions, except for using black brads for the eyes. But the dino came together easily. My children love my little dino pincushion, I just have to put it out of their reach so I can use it for my next sewing project.

that’s super cute – well done. I’ve got a few felt kits along with some other crafting projects. I’ve picked out my first thing to do – it’s a felt lhama key ring 🙂
