Regular readers will know that every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new.
I know I’m always blaming our little pup but I haven’t had much time to craft this year. I enjoyed making Issue 112’s cute Festive Pup kit. Issue 113 was a mini floral winter banner which I do want to make at some point; Issue 114 was a snowflake mandala kit which I passed to a friend; Issue 115 included a cute Kitty Keyring to embroider which I’ve made!
The cute Kitty Keyring by Flora Waycott with embroidery by Jessie Doughty was the free cover gift with Mollie Makes mag, this is a craft/lifestyle magazine which I love subscribing to. The kit included printed fabric, a needle, embroidery threads, stuffing and a metal keyring.
I packed this little kit when we went away to Devon last week. I wanted to work on my Shipping Forecast quilt but I knew there wouldn’t be much free time, so this little project was perfect.
Craft kits are so perfect when you’re short of time. I added stitches to the pre-printed fabric however I liked then cut round it. When we got back home I found a Liberty scrap for the keyring tag and used my machine to stitch the front and back together.
I was happy to have something for my hands to do in the evenings and so happy to have made something!
