Getting through the day with Arla Organic Free Range milk

Getting through the day with Arla Organic Free Range milk

Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 and 3 are very much ‘my’ time. This means it’s my time to do the food shopping, clean the house, change the bed sheets, and do all those jobs which come up each week. The busiest week included buying both children something red, white or blue to wear to their Royal Wedding parties at school, sorting out donations for the School Fair, tackling the ironing, making bunting for the Royal Wedding party at school, paying for the Greek workshop and picking up a new Cubs outfit for my son. After school revolves around making sure each child attends the right after school club on the right day in the right uniform and that homework is done.

I always hold my hands up to any mum who works outside the home and manages the household and their children too. Being a parent is a full-time job and I’m not sure how other working mums and dads juggle everything. I sometimes find it a bit overwhelming (and a tad repetitive) which is why I make sure to carve out some time for myself during the day. A chapter of my latest book and a good old cup of my favourite tea made with Arla Organic Free Range milk always sorts me out.

Arla Organic Free Range milk

Arla’s 89 British organic farmers are very proud of their milk. Arla Organic Free Range milk is sourced from British farms, where all cows are FREE RANGE, grazed outside on 100% organically farmed land whenever possible.

Whether you prefer creamy whole or delicious semi-skimmed, by choosing Arla Organic milk, you’re also supporting the farmers that own the Arla business. All the profits go straight back into the farmer’s pockets who put their care into making this nutritious and delicious milk. What’s more, choosing organic milk guarantees that no artificial fertilisers or herbicides are used on the land.

Did you know that a 200ml glass of semi-skimmed milk provides 31% of our recommended daily calcium (needed for maintenance of normal bones and teeth), 74% of our recommended daily Vitamin B12 (contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue), 41% of our recommended daily iodine (contributes to normal cognitive function), 35% of our recommended daily Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)(contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue), 16% of our recommended daily potassium (which contrcibutes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure) and 14% of our recommended daily protein (contributes to the maintenance and growth in muscle mass). Fortunately the whole family has always incorporated milk into our diet. It’s such an easy way to ensure you have a balanced diet and the perfect way to get the children the vitamins and minerals they need. I enjoy Arla Organic Milk with my breakfast cereal (after the school drop off!), and in my tea during the day. It also makes a great after school drink with a snack before we tackle that pile of homework!

I’ve been meaning to try this milk for a little while. I wanted to switch to organic milk as my son and daughters still drink milk often.

I’m vegan, but my daughter still eats eggs and dairy. It’s so important to choose organic. (I mean, duh, I would say that given that I’m ‘Our Little Organic Life’ but it really is important, for the environment, animal welfare standards, the health of people who work in agriculture who are often exposed to terrible chemicals, for the birds, bees, flora and fauna, as well as our own health when we consume foods.)

This is so good. I’m never sure if the milk I get is organic and since I don’t know I presume it probably isn’t! I drink milk all the time so I need to look into this more!

We actually don’t drink a lot of milk in our house. I have some soya milk with my cereal but other than that my partner isn’t a huge fan x

That’s a shame you don’t drink a lot of milk, it has so much good stuff in it!

It’s great that you’ve used some me time to enjoy a glass a milk and get in the calcium that you need. We can’t deink milk ourselves due to allergies but I do see the benefits.

I’m not actually a big milk drinker – I only like it in my morning coffee, and occasionally on my cereal. My mum loves Arla though – she won’t buy anything else x

We only buy organic milk for the kids as I do think it’s more nutrient dense as well as avoiding any nasties – Arla sounds ace

I love milk. It’s my guilty pleasure I will quite happily drink 4 pints to myself. I’m yet to try this one but I definitely will.
