    Despicable Me 3 film review

    Our family love all things Minion so have been looking forward to the release of Despicable Me 3 for a while. My children have opened a few Despicable Me 3 Kinder Eggs and we reviewed some of the new Despicable Me Mineez too. They also got their hands on some Despicable Me Happy Meals toys – we’ve been pretty much immersed in all things Despicable Me and minions! So when we were invited to the premiere of the new film in Leicester Square we just had to attend. We managed to keep it a secret until we arrived at Leicester…

    The Diary of a Wimpy Kid screening with Joules Clothing

    Today we were invited by Joules Clothing to attend a screening of the latest film, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, at 20th Century Fox. I’d heard of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series of fiction books, written by the American author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney. All the main books are the journals of the main character, Greg Heffley. We haven’t read any of the books or watched the previous films but were excited to see the film based on the trailer, which we all thought was funny. We had a lovely afternoon in London before the…

    The Lego Batman Movie

    Last weekend we were fortunate to be invited to a very special preview of the new The Lego Batman Movie in Leicester Square. My son loves Lego so off we went to the West End for a day out together. Before the preview started there were lots of things to do at the cinema. My son got a Batman logo painted on his hand (which he insisted on not washing off all day), we enjoyed some special Lego biscuits and he played Lego Dimensions with the new Batman Movie Story Pack.  It was a great way to spend a morning…

    6 films for the perfect Lego movie night in

    Last weekend my son and I were lucky to attend the premiere of the new LEGO Batman Movie. It was brilliant and we absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see it again when it comes out in cinemas on the 10th February. Lego films are always fun and it inspired us to plan our own Lego-themed movie night in with the whole family. First of all there will be snacks. Luckily I’ve had some practice making Lego themed food. Everyone loves lego biscuits and simple Lego cupcakes. I’ve also had fun experimenting with Easy Lego Bento ideas, so we have plenty of…

    Five classic films I want to watch in 2017

    I’m so excited by the start of a New Year. I still have to write my 2017 goals post, the month is already going by far too quickly. I’m keen to try new things this year and have already made a start on this by trying to make the macrame kit which came with the latest issue of Mollie Makes. I figure it is better to try something new than not try at all, although I have to be honest and say I don’t think macrame will be my new hobby…. Anyway, I love to sit and watch a film…

Last weekend was the first weekend in a long time that we’ve been at home. Of course we had a few festive things planned but we were all really looking forward to a family film night.     Swallows and Amazons {2016 film adaptation}

    I know there are some amazing and hotly anticipated films coming out this summer; think Finding Dory, Ghostbusters and The BFG. So I was pretty excited to learn about the new adaptation of Swallows and Amazons, the classic children’s story by Arthur Ransome, was being updated for the big screen. This morning we were invited along to watch it before it is released on 19th August. Swallows and Amazon is a classic, I read the book when I was a child and longed for the same adventures as John, Susan, Titty and Roger Walker. There has been one adaptation, back…
