Despicable Me 3 film review

Despicable Me 3 film review

Posted on June 27, 2017June 27, 2017 by jenny

Our family love all things Minion so have been looking forward to the release of Despicable Me 3 for a while. My children have opened a few Despicable Me 3 Kinder Eggs and we reviewed some of the new Despicable Me Mineez too. They also got their hands on some Despicable Me Happy Meals toys – we’ve been pretty much immersed in all things Despicable Me and minions!

So when we were invited to the premiere of the new film in Leicester Square we just had to attend. We managed to keep it a secret until we arrived at Leicester Square. The children saw lots of activity outside the Odeon, there were two minions and Gru’s amazing car. Then they figured out where we were going! Obviously we took photos on them at both – they looked so excited.

Then we went into the cinema where we took part in some activities before the film started. There was biscuit decorating, tattoos and face painting.

The Odeon is a huge cinema with over 1600 seats. We found seats and sat down with our bags of Minion Haribo to watch the film:

The mischievous Minions hope that Gru will return to a life of crime after the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him. Instead, Gru decides to remain retired and travel to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.

I sat next to my 7 year old who laughed throughout the film. He loved it, we all did it. The film has a great soundtrack and my kids recognised a lot of the music as I’m a big fan of 80s music. The film has everything you need – minions, long lost relatives, fluffy unicorns, a new villain. It’s out on Friday 30th June and I would recommend it as a fun family film and a must-see for Summer 2017.
