Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. I’ve been terrible lately, the last few kits haven’t been very inspiring but I did want to make the latest one. Issue 68 Mollie Makes Mini Cracker Kit The Mini Cracker Kit came with a wooden template, 8 papers, twine and confetti. The template was designed by…

I can’t believe we finished our last craft as part of the Bostik Family Craft Bloggers today. We’ve had so much fun over the last 12 months using their products in our crafty activities. Our final prompt was snow so today we made potato print snowmen a perfect Christmas craft for kids! For our potato print snowmen we used – potatoes, a cookie cutter, white paint and a pack of Bostik Glitter Pens. How to make potato print snowmen I prepared the potatoes by cutting them in half and used the cookie cutter to cut my desired shape. I couldn’t…

I seem to be giving a lot of money to my children’s school at this time of year. In the last month I’ve paid for school photos x 2, Christmas cards designed by them x 2, money for them to spend at their Christmas Fayre x 2, raffle tickets x 2, tickets to go and watch their Christmas nativity x 2, as well providing clothes for them to wear at the blooming nativity x 2! I’m so fed up of giving money to school! I’ve bought a few costumes for them over the last few years but as they grow,…

I don’t tend to write many gift guides. This is my second of the season (my first one can be found here) and I have one more planned. This gift guide is a little different because it’s full of the things I would love to receive! I’ve always loved adult colouring books and I’m hoping they are here to stay. Here’s a round up of some of my favourite adult colouring books around – perfect in case my husband needs a few ideas! Adult colouring books gift guide Lost in London – A colouring-in tour across England’s capital by Sylvia…

This week my son went on a playdate after school and my daughter and I wanted to stay in and watch a film. This super simple gingerbread popcorn recipe only requires 3 ingredients and makes a fun festive treat, especially if you’re staying in to watch Elf! Gingerbread popcorn recipe ingredients Popcorn (we love Butterkist Sweet) Gingerbread spices Gingerbread men shaped sprinkles How to make gingerbread popcorn recipe Take a healthy portion of popcorn and sprinkle over a pinch of gingerbread spices. A few weeks ago we received a wonderful parcel containing Christmas crafts for kids from Baker Ross. Here’s what we thought of them. Both my children are interested in sewing so loved the Rudolph Reindeer Decoration Sewing Kits. There are 3 assorted colours and each kit includes pre-cut felt shapes, self-adhesive felt pieces, yarn, stuffing, wiggle-eyes, ribbon and plastic needle. My 5 year old made this one and it was her first sewing project! I thought it was perfect for her and she was so happy with the finished reindeer. Our house always receives a visit from the Elf on…

Earlier in the summer I attended a tablescaping event as part of the Ikea Autumn/Winter press show. I saw some great Christmas products and knew I would be going to buy some in store. We went to Ikea in October and I was so happy to see they had set up their Christmas displays. I bought quite a few new decorations, a gingerbread house and a lovely wooden tree. The tree was quite a simple design with 28 branches, each with a small hole at the end to hang a decoration. I thought this would make a great wooden Advent…

I’m delighted to announce that I’m a Pinty Plus Ambassador. Pinty Plus Chalk Paint is a manufactured in Spain by Novasol Spray and sold in the UK exclusively by novasolspray.co.uk. Although the product is well established in the European market, it has yet to take off in the UK largely because it is still relatively unknown within the market. It’s a versatile product which can be applied to melamine, wood, plastic, glass, canvas, metal, cardboard and polystyrene. For my first project I wanted to try something quite simple. I love upycling pallets, we’ve already made a fun pallet mud kitchen and pallet…
