Snot: the toy that nobody wanted

Snot: the star of Smyths Toys Christmas advert

Posted on October 13, 2017 by jenny

If your kids want to know what the hottest toy is going to be for Christmas 2017 then you’re in luck. Meet Snot. The star of the Smyths Toys Christmas advert, the toy that no one wanted. Snot, a toy who begins as a factory line error but goes on to become this year’s most wanted toy.

Snot plush toy from Smyths Toys Christmas advert

The story follows the cute and curious Snot as he wanders through the streets looking for a place to call home. Though he encounters a series of misfortunate events on his travels, including being chased by a 50ft monster, Snot ends up saving the day and finds a home in the aisles of Smyths Toys Superstores. Take a look at the ad here:

My kids loved the ad, especially spotting all their favourite toys in the windows of the toyshop, as they’ve recently been looking at the Smyths Toys catalogue. It’s voiced by David Walliams who is just perfect.

My kids were lucky to receive their very own plush Snot. He’s very cute and soft and cuddly and was immediately adopted by my 5 year old. Take a look at our unboxing to find out what they thought:

If you want to get your hands on your very own plush Snot then great news! A plush Snot and a storybook are now available in-store with all profits going to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. This would make a great gift this Christmas whilst supporting such a worthy cause.

The advert is playing this Saturday on the ad break of ITV X Factor at 8.15pm so is sure to be a huge hit with kids and parents too this Christmas.

Snot seems like a lovely toy to have this Christmas but not sure we can pull my nephew away from Mickey and Lightening McQueen
