Washi tape bunting for Father’s Day

This year is going incredibly fast for our little family. Life is so busy but my 8-year-old is getting excited for Father’s Day next month. He is a real daddy’s boy and just loves making gifts for people. I can’t tell you just yet what he’s making (as my husband reads my blog) but he asked me to help him with a gift box to hold his gift. I think that the packaging should be just an interesting as the gift inside. I found a lovely range of packaging boxes and gift accessories from SelfPackaging. I can’t resist their colourful washi…

    Washi tape Easter eggs

This year I’ve tried to not buy any new Easter decorations. I’m really trying to cut down our use of single-use plastics and using up what we have before we buy anything. In our Easter box we had a *lot* of plastic re-fillable eggs. They are perfect for an Easter egg hunt at home. Recently I was sent a bundle of Duck Tape washi tape. It’s been a while since I crafted with washi tape. Have you heard of it? It’s a Japanese tape which is easy to tear and easy to re-position and great for crafting with. I thought…

    Washi tape Valentine heart bookmarks

We love crafting with washi tape. A few years ago I went crazy buying it and we still have so much of it. The good thing is that it is still sticky and perfect for crafting with. It’s especially fun for the children as they can just tear the tape with their fingers, no need for scissors! With Valentine’s Day coming up it is a great time to start on handmade Valentine’s Day cards and gifts. We always make them for the family and this year have made simple washi tape Valentine hearts bookmarks. We used: Heart-shaped cookie cutter Washi…

How to make washi tape picture frames

I don’t know about you but my fridge is covered with magnets – often holding up the latest letter from school or shopping list. There’s always room for more so I was happy to review some personalised photo fridge magnets from PicStick. The site is easy to use, you can upload 9 images from your computer, Facebook or even Dropbox. They come in a grid of 9 photos which you can easily tear apart. For some reason I received two sets of my chosen photos but fortunately my sister was here when they arrived so I was able to share…

Things to do with washi tape

I seem to have accumulated a lot of washi tape. It looks pretty but is useful too. We were invited to a birthday party today so I needed to wrap two little gifts but only had brown paper. I had pinned some pretty washi tape projects so I thought I would try them myself – perfect for the PinAddicts Pinterest Challenge. I really like the end result and am thinking this could be a great way to jazz up Christmas presents! Things to do with washi tape

I’ve become quite addicted to washi tape. I haven’t managed to find much around, apart from the rolls I bought in Cath Kidston ages ago, but I did find a couple of different patterned ones whilst on holiday in Devon. I’ve been slowly putting it around the house. There are lots of different ways to use it. Before Pinterest I used it to keep some of my favourite pictures in my trusty Moleskine for inspiration. It’s perfect for decorating tea light candles. How about pretty washi tape bunting. It also looks great on display, how about this cute washi tape…

    Homemade washi tape

I love washi tape. If you haven’t heard of it before it’s a style of paper that was first made in Japan. Now it’s used to describe pretty sticky tape. It has a multitude of uses from wrapping gifts, sealing envelopes and sticking up my favourite recipes on my kitchen cupboards! Until recently I’ve been using some really pretty washi tape which I picked up at Cath Kidston. However it was ridiculously expensive so I made my own.   You will need: double-sided sticky tape, scissors, fabric, an old cotton reel. Simply roll the tape along your fabric and cut…
