We’re a bit spoilt for shops selling furniture where we live. Our new house is bigger than the old one so when we moved we needed more furniture. Sitting in my lounge and writing this, almost everything I can see is new, and we definitely didn’t budget for it all in our moving costs! We shopped around, and looked online too, and found everything we needed. It should out last us too, unless wooden furniture goes horribly out of fashion! A couple of weeks ago I went for any eye test at my local Specsavers store in Ruislip. I hadn’t had an eye test since my working days so I was pretty keen to see what shape my eyes were in. The eye test was really thorough and I was surprised at how many different things I had to look at or read. My son was sent a personalised Christmas book from Born Gifted who sell children’s gifts and toys. They have a great range of Christmas gifts and kindly allowed me to choose one of their personalised Christmas books to review which include a personalised Twelve Days of Christmas book, 24 Sleeps ’til Christmas Advent Activity book, Your Letter to Santa personalised book, and Personalised Christmas Story Book. Today we were invited to see Peaceful Lion Productions present an adaptation of Nadia Shireen’s ‘Hey, Presto!’ for children aged 3 to 8 and their adults at the Pleasance Islington. Peaceful Lion Productions are a small company with big ambitions, and love putting on shows that appeal to parents and children alike – with a dab of spectacle for good measure. Their new Christmas production is, Hey, Presto! which began on the 4th of December (and runs until the 21st December). Last week we popped into our local Dunelm Mill to get some inspiration for our Christmas decorations. My Facebook timeline has been full of friends putting up their trees and decorations and it feels as though we’re in the minority as we haven’t put anything up yet – except for our Advent calendars and candles. This afternoon Little Sis and I visited Westfield London to get ourselves into the Christmas spirit. It’s quite easy for us to get to Westfield London so we hopped on the tube and soon emerged into the shopping centre. I love to plan so had a list of things to see and do. First up was to check out the Christmas lights and decorations which were so pretty. There’s a fantastic indoor ice-rink so we spent a good 10 minutes watching people ice skate. As you know we moved house 8 months ago and we’re in the process of decorating every room. We’ve already finished the little man’s room, next up will be his sister’s. We had the most wonderful time at Westfield Stratford City today where we were invited to a very special storytelling session of The Gruffalo. The children were sitting quite happily and listening really well. Woolly Wonderland at Westfield! And then the special guest turned up! My children’s faces were priceless 🙂 They both love The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child so it was a real treat for them to meet him.
