Christmas crafts days out

Woolly Wonderland at Westfield!

We had the most wonderful time at Westfield Stratford City today where we were invited to a very special storytelling session of The Gruffalo. The children were sitting quite happily and listening really well.

And then the special guest turned up! My children’s faces were priceless 🙂 They both love The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child so it was a real treat for them to meet him. We even managed to squeeze into a photobooth with him for a cheeky snap.

The event was organised by Save the Children in their pop up shop at Westfield Stratford City. For the first time, Save the Children will be offering people an opportunity to immerse themselves fully in the Christmas Jumper experience. Woolly Wonderland is set to be a top-to-toe knitted space perfect to cosy up in for story-telling and craft workshops; it even includes a photo booth to capture guests in their festive finery. A host of experts will be on hand to jazz up last year’s festive knits or demonstrate how to create one from scratch – plus some special guests and activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Dick & Dom will be hosting storytelling sessions – and even The Gruffalo and Elmer in the Snow will be stopping by to help the whole family get into the festive spirit with story-telling, giveaways and fun activities.

Alternatively, shoppers can join knitting supremos Debbie Bliss, Sue Stratford or the team from Wool and the Gang for a festive knitter natter as they share insider craft tips and run through essential knitting know-how.

To take part in Save the Children’s Woolly Wonderland, bring your Christmas Jumper and your imagination down to Westfield Stratford from 5-13 December. To sign up for a specific workshop visit www.christmasjumperday.org/woollywonderland. Wear your jumper on Christmas Jumper Day on 13 December and donate £1 to Save the Children at www.christmasjumperday.org
